Ok I just got a ATV2 and in the software version it says it is 4.1.1 I assume this means that it is iOS 4.1 and not 4.2? if so does that mean that is can be booted untethered once Jailbroken? I noticed on the main page is said that XBMC will run on 4.1.
I was going to update it to 4.2 because I was going to follow the instructions on this thread.

I do have all windows machines here at home but, I have access to several macs from friends and work.

This looks like it is a untethered 4.1 jailbreak. could I do what is in this one then just folllow the steps for installing XBMC found here:

Also of note I find the Limera1nRC1b that claims to break all iOS 4.2 devices from windows. anyone tried it?
