XBMC on ATV2 crashes when trying m4v
#1
Hi everybody,
my xbmc on an Apple TV2 plays everything exept .m4v-files. Unfortunately this is what most of my films are. If I try it crashes to the apple-"desktop".
I searched Google an the site but could not find any suggestions.
Can someone help me?
Thanx

Hi,

I installed the updatebegone (and killall...) and it didn´t change a thing. I tried before changing the hosts-file as described in the thread.
It only crashes, when I try to watch a .m4v-file.
Any other hints ??
Thank you Smile

Did you try loading front row, waiting for the update screen confirmation screen and choosing Upate later?

Well, if the problem only happens with those files, probably isn't related to the 4.3 update. Can you provide logs and info about the files you are trying to reproduce?

.mkv also crashes it seems the only files it likes are .avi...

Ok so by turning off hardware acceleration this allows me to play smaller 576i m4v files but not any higher quality ones and forget about 720 or 1080 mkv the just cant buffer.. any help here would be great.

Ok so after stuffing around (as i couldn`t find it in the forum on net) press and hold ok button on atv remote to get the sub menu up and i disabled and now .mkv and large .m4v play but they are still buffering all the time. Just not watchable so if any suggestion from anyone i would appreciate it. Smaller m4v play ok.
