Delete files/folders from networked drive?
#1
Sorry if this has been asked before - I searched and can't find anything Sad

I use to have my media stored on an external drive on my XBMC pc. After I got done watching a TV show, I would hit the menu key, and then DELETE. It would delete the files so I wouldn't have to go into the PC later and do so.

Now, I've moved my media over to my main desktop as I've added another XBMC machine in the house, and have both networked to this via SMB shares. Once I hit DELETE, nothing happens. Is there any way to get this to work?

First thing your going to have to do it turn off simple file sharing. Check this out if u need help.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040#turnonfile

Then you gotta make sure the permissions are right on the actual folder your shareing. the easiest thing to do is add everything and give them full control. not recommended though but it will work. hope it helps.

Edit::

If your using windows 7 your looking for wizard sharing
