My Snapstream remote broke, I need a new remote
#1
Question
Well, I had a Snapstream Firefly. It went bad, so someone should maintain this page now because I cannot... http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Snapstream_Firefly

I need a new remote for my Home Theater. I'm looking at a price range of ~$100usd. Radio Frequency(RF) control is mandatory. InfraRed(IR) is an appreciated option in addition to RF. I do not NEED IR, but it would be nice.

I was looking at the gyration remotes... This one seems to fit the bill nicely:http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=pr...zA&cad=rja However, I would like a second opinion from someone who has more experience then myself.

What's a good remote?
Use mythicalLibrarian to make a library out of your MythTV files. Leave the recording to MythTV and use XBMC as your library.

I've already got a wireless keyboard with a trackpad. Thank you for the suggestion. I may consider buying that as a replacement for my keyboard, but I need a remote, not a keyboard.

Any suggestions for a good remote?

How about one of these:

coupled with a Harmony remote of your choice?

Should work perfect......

^^ That's $40, or $75 with all of the extras that are required. More thn 1/2 of my remote budget. I'd rather just have a standard RF remote with no special batteries. Something that PLUGS IN to the computer. The harmony remotes for under $50 are no where near as fully featured as the one I posted in the first post. Harmony remotes are a PITA to set up on XBMC under Linux. That would add yet another piece of hardware in my living room. Also, if I buy that, then I'm no further along on getting a new remote for my media center. That does not plug into a computer.

Does anyone have a good suggestion for a remote for my XBMC Media Center?.
