Turning Pc on from standby

Sad
I know there has been a few posts about this, and I have looked extremely hard to find a solution to my problem. I usually don't post on forums but im going crazy trying to figure this out. I created my own USB to DVD dongle wire, that works fine, i set all the buttons up with eventghost using the original xbox dvd remote kit. I enabled wake from USB in my bios, but the computer will not wake from key presses on the xbox remote. I have tried a USB keyboard and that works. I have also tried the MCE Standby tool with no success ( also tried manually adding the registy setting). If anyone could point me in the right direction here it would be very helpful.

The computer is running windows xp x86, with http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/cont...p?S_ID=363 this motherboard.

This probably is'nt possible as this is higly hardware-dependant. It could very well be that your Receiver does not feature this kind of function.

You can check up in the MS-KB:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841858

This is a workaround for some issues with USB-Controllers, it may apply to you.

What receiver are you using for the remote?

You should also allow for the receiver to wake the machine from standby. It's done in System/Hardware/Device Manager. You find your receiver in the list of devices, you select Properties and there on the power management tab you should have the option to allow it to wake up the machine from standby.

I'm not saying this will solve your problem, but it's a step worth trying.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first (usually it's enough to follow instructions in the second post).
