Just found XBMC 9.11 here http://sourceforge.net/search/?q=xbmc Its an official stable build so you should have no problems with it except it does not support the new addons and may have problems finding skins that will work with it...

And your database probably will need deleting and build from scratch.

Why wont it work maybe you could try an unofficial OpenGL build of the latest from SSHCS
