Nvidia shield 16gb with remote that usually is separate for $160 at bestbuy or should I wait for wetek core? What does the wetek core can do that shield can't? Hope someone and provide insight before sale goes out .
I would go with the Shield (especially if the price is close)

The is a thread you can get caught up on the WeTek http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=238923&page=18

I'm not saying the Core is a bad piece of hardware. But there are too many limitations (for my needs) like HD-Audio and lack of 10-bit video that says no to the Core for me. I had a AMlogic 812 chipset player about 5 months ago. I sent it back,

I have the Shield and it is very nice. The audio support is not quite where I need it to be. But with KODI 17 (HD audio passthrough) I should be good to go. I am not sure AMLogic 812 chipset can support HD bitstreaming even with KODI 17.

Just my $0.02
A quick search gives you two threads with a lot of info. The Wetek Core isn't out yet and no release day has been set in stone last time I checked.. On the other hand the Shield is out already.. I think the first thing you need to figure out what YOU want from a new device and go from there..

Don't forget that with the Core you can go the OpenElec route which in my book is way better than using the Android app. Granted, Shield's hardware is better, but if I had to choose between a faster rig with all the bells and whistles and a rig that is optimized for my specific purpose and that has excellent support, I'd go with the latter every time.
With a device such as the nividia shield. Can one install plugin like pulsar even though it is android based?
No.
