I am having trouble trying to update my Kodi version on my android box, its never worked.. Every time I go to update it states "Failed To get Version Information:.. I'm connected to Wifi with no issues, the LOCAL VERSION shows as 20150930  but the Remove Version is blank

Given that you have an old copy of Kodi installed, I'd assume your device also doesn't meet the minimum Android requirements.
