The current behaviour is;

You play content in a different frame rate to current display.
Content begins to play instantly (in wrong frame rate).
Then shield changes frame rate.
Then the content holds on a freeze frame wherever it left off (about 2 seconds into playback) for the duration of time set in setting menu (0-20 seconds).
Then payback resumes from where it left off.
Ie the switch happens after playback begins, not before.
The testers here disagree with you: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/issues/15912 - so post your Debug Log if you want to get this issue solved, else no one can help you, cause it works for the others.
I am having these problems with a movie in all my devices and I was about to open a thread...

Can wait to 18.6, hope its comes soon Smile

Test the Leia nightly and report back. Properly set your delay. If it does not work come back with a Debug Log.

Without you guys verifying there will be a big whining party after 18.6 is out without another fix for months in Leia.

First of all, sorry if it's another problem different of the one of this thread.

Here is my log with that movie, installed the latest .apk still getting this frame low and audio desync, any help?

PD: Ofc the movie is working fine with VLC on my PC or using the google drive app.
Sorry, create your own thread. What this thread does not need at all - is some highjacking for another issue.

Please create your own issue report.
Ok log created
Playback of 23.98p 1080 file followed by 25i 576 file (played back @ 50p) then back to 23.98p 1080.
Each time, the frame rate switch happens after the file playback has already begun, causing freeze in vision & screen goes to black during switch.
Kodi is up scaling to UHD.

Your issue is not related to the original problem. Your's is: You have 25 hz in your whitelist, when starting the 25i channel, it is detected as 25 hz and afterwards deinterlaced to 50. So it switches twice. Remove the 25 hz resolution from  your whitelist.

Can you tell me which these are please?

My set up is exactly as it used to be prior to version 18, and the switching always used to work fine.
At some point either at the end of version 17, or when it updated to 18 it broke.
I will try your suggestion now.

I have removed 25hz from the whitelist. The behaviour is still the same I’m afraid.

Then bad for you. Time to file a bugreport with detailled Debug Log on github.
Looking at your log once more:

Kodi waits properly for 5 seconds. But it finds that information only after your playback has long started. There is a problem with analyzing your .ts file - it comes up with 0 hz and 0 audio channels. After we played some amount, we find the real info and switch - here your timeout of 5 seconds is honored.

Try some mkv file, please.
