That would be great. I look forward to the 'tabbed' version of MPDClient.
I also have another suggestion regarding playlists. Would it be possible to add an option so that when you select 'Load (Replace)' for a selected playlist, mpd starts playing the new playlist immediately? Currently when you replace a playlist you must select 'Play' on the transport controls.
Thanks!
that bothers me too and I always forget to implement it ;-)
Will do, sure.
Any chance that you will do any changes to handle mopidy? Seems like they won't implement the idle command anytime soon.

I can get to it during chrismass. The first problem I have is installation. Mopidy is not in my distro (using gentoo). I can handle it, but it is not easy. Are there any public instances?

Not that I'm aware of. I set it up using an ubuntu vmware image. Which I've forgot my login information to.
I'm so stupid sometimes.
Guys, could you try to pull from git?
I've pushed new layout (appliciable for Confluence only) and local album fetcher.
You may need to configure album fetching again. Currenly you can select Off|Allmusic.com|local.
When using local, you should select path to your MPD server root directory as well as file mask.
For example:
DIR:/tmp
MASK:*.jpg
when playing file: OSI/Blood/Song.mp3
first .jpg image found in /tmp/OSI/Blood will be used as album art.
Let me know if it is stable/working for you. I'll request pull to xbmc repo then.
The local option is not working for me.
adelias Wrote:The local option is not working for me.
hmm .. could you pull again and provide log? ($HOME/.xbmc/temp/xbmc.log)
thanks
Izoubek,
I really like the new tabbed layout. Could I make a small request, depending on yours and other users opinions? Would it be possible to change the current tab layout to: : Queue : Artists : Playlists : Files :
This is only for quicker access between the queue & artists/playlists. I only access 'Files' to update the library, but quite often change playlists or add to the queue from the artist listing.
Local artwork is not working for me either.
You can grab my log from here:
xbmc.mpdc.log
I don't think I'll be able to use local artwork anyway, because I have two profiles for two separate instances of mpd with two different music databases. I can only set one artwork location. Correct?
adelias Wrote:Here is the log:
It does not work for you, because you do not have an *.jpg file in the same directory as music files. You have always subidr 'Artwork'. In fact I should look into subdirs to search for image. Then it would work for you.
Thanks for testing

+1 for new order of tabs :-)

Same for you. You do not have any image for example in /media/Yggdrasil/Stereo/OSI/Blood.
Yes, you are right. I forgot about it. This setting is profile-related and should be defined per profile. I am not sure, how to deal with it. I don't want the setting 'Fetch album art' to be per profile but at the same time there is per-profile setting, which visibility depends on global setting. Any ideas?
Thanks for testing too. I've implemented local fetching as response to tellmo's request. It is not useful for me, since my MPD server is far away from me. At least I've tried how to implement conditional visibility in settings.
btw.. if you use 2 MPD servers with different databases, why don't you share music among both?
btw I'm hanging on #xbmc-mpdc irc channel on freenode, if you wanna chat
