I have tested my beebox 7200u with my club3d display port adapter. In my setup 1080p movies play in 1080p and for 2160p it changes the resolution as expected. The issue I have is that 3D MVC doesn't work. I can hear sound but my projector stays black!

Interesting, 3d works on the club3d adapter for me, but the movies under 4k quality do not play at the resolution expected.

On HDMI 2.0, same thing happens with resolution, and 3d does not work.

So no different from playing mvc on the HDMI 2.0 port.

Yes. Perhaps I have a different firmware of the Club3D adapter. I will see if I can get a newer firmware.

Could you tell me how you update the firmware on it? I haven't done that and cannot find it.

You need to send an email to [email protected]

I have seen in a forum that they might send an update utility.

I have found a link:

But no difference after I have done the update!

I found a newer firmware: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zzbvk2rc673mpqj/AACm5RTgNPfReVrc97h4JpGCa?dl=0

I will test tonight.

I think Kodi is not properly swapping the resolution (even though it says it is in the log), since this happens on all HDMI ports and through the adapter (at least for me). Can you try the HDMI ports and see if they work for you?

I wonder if there is anything to show your native resolution while playing a movie in kodi to test the swap.

RE: Intel HTPC/NUC's w/reliable Kodi-native 3D MVC Playback - Caramba69 - 2017-01-10

Kodi is definitely changing the resolution. I can see this in the menu of my Sony projector.

RE: Intel HTPC/NUC's w/reliable Kodi-native 3D MVC Playback - afedchin - 2017-01-10

the resolution is changed by a GPU's driver. Kodi doesn't distinguish between HDMI ports

RE: Intel HTPC/NUC's w/reliable Kodi-native 3D MVC Playback - Joshk6656 - 2017-01-10

What would the issue be if the adapter isnt causing it then? The TV?

RE: Intel HTPC/NUC's w/reliable Kodi-native 3D MVC Playback - afedchin - 2017-01-10

I think an issue exists into DP->HDMI2.0 chip.

RE: Intel HTPC/NUC's w/reliable Kodi-native 3D MVC Playback - Joshk6656 - 2017-01-10

But it does the same for me on HDMI2.0 port and HDMI1.4.

LG is another manufacturer that has remove all 3D models from their 2017 lineup. A user at AV Forums has created a petition to bring customer concerns to LG, please sign and pass round this petition, never know it might help for their 2018 lineup:

@movie78 I am looking at the OLED55E6V 55" right now because of this. I was hoping that there would be new LG 3D models in the 2017 as I currently have a LG 49UB850V which is great but black levels not so good so was planning an upgrade later this year.

I had the choice between the Sony 75X850D and the LG 75UH8500 the LG had all the specs I was looking for ( 3D : HDR and Dolby Vision) if it wasn't 3D I would have bought the Sony, LG is making a big mistake removing 3D from their TV.
