Not so odd, I think. This one is a lot more difficult to solve. It appears that when rendering using the DSPlayer is not visible to the builtin screenshot method. Can you delete this line:

from the new VideoOSD button restart and try the same button again.
If you see the pause elements still on the screen with a black background regardless of what the scene is then this is beyond my ability to fix and has to do with the coding of the addition to DSPlayer to the Kodi application Sad

After reading your new post it seems like this is definitely a DSPlayer thing and not so easily solved...

With the line deleted from that .xml file, when I press the screenshot button, the round pause button still shows on the screen, with the video paused in the background. However, the output file is still a blank, black, 0 byte .png file. I agree with you, in that this is a DSPlayer thing.

Another oddity I just found out about is that, as I say, using my OS screenshot button of PrtScrn, I still get a 0 byte output file that is , of course, totally blank.

However, when I fire up Photoshop, and create a new image from clipboard, there is the image I captured. So, the actual image is getting into memory via the clipboard, but it is not getting to the output file that is saved to HDD.

I just switched back to the stock Kodi 15 final install with your updated skin, and the screenshot button works as it should. I wanted to make sure that all this was not a glitch with my OS all the sudden. But both your button, and my PrtScrn button output the correct file. So, bottom line is that this is most certainly a DSPlayer issue, and not an issue with your skin. I'll see if the creator of the SDPlayer build has any suggestions regarding screenshots in general. That might give us a lead on what to do to resolve this.

Hurumphhh.... I give up! It seems that build of Kodi is just too unstable for my tastes. Firstly, others have had the same problem getting screenshots of their video files, and nothing gave me any resolution to the problem. Second, the build is plain querky, for me anyway.

I was doing some main menu customization, and all the sudden, my ability to modify any of the sub-menus just up and vanished! The option "Manage Submenu" totally disappeared from the settings GUI. Can you believe that? Just like that, Poof, gone......

I was so disgusted that I was willing to try from scratch, but strange as this will sound, even with a new installation of the build, and the skin, there was no option to manage the submenu in any of the main menu entries. I'm either losing my mind, or I've been at this too long....

I double-checked by using the stock Kodi with your skin, and sure enough, the option is there. I'm not going crazy, I don't thinkHuh ( It's always a possibility, however)

So, for now, I just give up. It takes a lot for me to say those words, but this time, I will concede defeat.

Mike, I'm just going to stick with the vanilla Kodi 15 and your skin. Less headaches all the way around..

The submenu problem would have nothing to do with DSPlayer. That is handled by files in skin.aeon.nox.5/1080i. The picture quality with DSPlayer and almost any gaming graphics card is head and shoulders above DVDPlayer.

To me, the minor quirks of DSPlayer are worth the compromise for the high-end audio and video you get. I wrote the set-up guide and know quite a bit about madVR. It is as good as it gets in HTPC rendering - as good as a $1000 Oppo Blu-ray player. Skins should function as they do before, perhaps with the exception of screen captures because madVR launches like an external app and takes over the screen focus. The renderer is written as its own D3D9 device. Any quirks relate to madVR and Kodi rendering alongside each other during fullscreen playback.

I totally, completely agree with you, and that's why I've spent the time and effort to set up the build, using your step-by-step guide. As you can see from my earlier comments, I totally gave the build excellent accolades on output quality, and ability to use the graphics card to it's fullest.

I can handle minor quirks, and even not being able to use the screenshot function. But having the ability to manage submenus just up and disappear, that is too much. I do not know if it is a skin problem, or a build problem. Bottom line, it's a problem for me, and at this point today, I've really reached the end of the line. Tomorrow may be a different story, but for now, I'll stick with plain Kodi and Mikes' modded Aeon Nox skin.

For the record, I am in NO WAY bashing DSPlayer build, not at all! I'm just bashing my motivation level, at this point in time, to be able to tolerate the quirks anymore today... Wink

Ok...understood. DSPlayer has its quirks, but it won't break any skin's functionality. Its code is focused on the fullscreen media player component alone.

Alright, after some rest, I attacked this thing again... The problem was this... I was installing the DSPlayer build of Kodi, and then I was installing the updated version of Aeon Nox 5 SilVO with the screenshot feature, using the manual method Mike told me about. That was where things started going wrong for me. I found the solution was to install DSPlayer build, then install the SilVO skin 5.7.2.0.0.5 from zip. At that point, the 'Manage Submenu' item showed up for me again. After that point, I then did a manual install of the updated skin with the screenshot feature, and the new button was there, along with the 'Manage Submenu' choice in skin settings.

I rewarded my self with a beta tester cookie, and now I'm off to do some serious customizations, then configure the DSPlayer to work well with madVR and LAV filters. After I finish, I'll send you all a postcard from Tahiti. Ta....

The flags are pulled from the window property created by the extendedinfo script and I do not know if setting the language is also supposed to pull the regional rating. The second movie does not have a rating on TheMovieDB so it will say NR until the info is updated and the scripts cache refreshes. Local library info may not match the online content pulled from the script cause the info is only pulled from that one source and your scraper may be setup to use different ones like IMDb. You might need to request this in the extendedinfo thread since I am not sure what, if anything, I can do about it Sad

I use Aeon Nox Silvo skin on my Win 7 64 Kodi Helix.
For my MOVIES and TV SHOWS libraries, I use Showcase view with Infopanel enabled.
While browsing it shows info and small fanart of the center video in the upper half of the screen.
However for my CONCERTS (Music Videos) library, I can't enable the Infopanel on the Showcase view.
So only posters in the lower half of the screen and the fanart in the background are shown.
Nothing in the upper half.
If anybody can help me please?
When i used CCM Helix i had no problem with info.All DVD/1080/mp4 files have been scraped with Media Companion.
