Good afternoon schimi and Happy New Year! I know this is probably a dumb question, but how can I get custom icons for the main menu items like you have in the post above? Is there an icon pack in the skin, or could you upload them somewhere for me to download? Thank you so much for your help.

If you've added any sources to the file manager (wiki), only those sources will show when you try to select a background (whilst having a nice range of default sources available if you haven't touched the file manager.) The only solution is to add the source you want to get backgrounds from to the file manager.

I understand that we of certain features and even have to say goodbye but just these features make Madnox from.
Especially the live DVD Background in conjunction with a playlist (For example, only 3D movies) was a highlight for me.
If this feature is dying, dying in my opinion a special feature.

Maybe he can help you with the code.

Hi Bob,
To activate Live backgrounds, the quickest way is to go into settings >> customizers >> Music Visualisation Settings. Select 'Background customizer' and then you should get a window (custom_1134_Backgroundchooser.xml) and an option should be Live DVD cases. After selecting that I just setup choose cover type to BD/DVD cases.
Once that is done then in any view, I think, go into viewtype settings, then background customizer and switch on the live DVD cases, job done. (you might have to make sure backend more is switched on in general settings, think this switch is almost redundant but haven't checked it out, will have too soon).
This only makes cases appear for moviesets for me, there is code for films which has this visibility - <visible>Substring(Control.GetLabel(4322),dvdcase,left)</visible> - which is controlled in MusicVisualisation.xml. So probably depends on the previous config choose cover type etc. etc.
I would love to help out but I tried to check out the new widgets stuff recently and couldn't understand it, Mr. V had buttons, say 512, to do sort by or sort order but there was no onclick so couldn't see how the dialog window was gettings called etc. etc. Will hopefully figure it all out some time soon.
Also, home.xml has code it seems to do it but I can't find 'backgroundlist' in the skin other than mainmenucustomizer?

I'm getting my head around it slowly. I think the big difficulty will be where and how to set the case options. Updating where it gets the main image from should be nice and easy (so that we can use any playlist). After that its the tedious-and-long job of updating all the necessary visibility conditions to use the skinshortcuts properties rather than the skin strings it currently uses. I'll get there, it'll just take time
Yes, those commented-out lines were all the old backgrounds. Lines 34, 35 and 36 are the 'live' background ones and will need to be uncommented.
Skin Shortcuts handles the onclicks for the custom property buttons itself. The matching of the button id to a specific property is done in the overrides.xml file - I can't see a 512, but here's 511.

But anyway...1. Is it possible to be able to blank the widget title and still get the art options below without having to back space then space?
2. Have panel widget information be selectable on/off individually for TV, movies, etc.

RCB has been in madnox for a long time now.
I know, but maybe its possible to get new views on rcb or support for cleanart.
On thegamesdb you get cleanart but the view on madnox doesnt show it.

Ok I can now replicate the issue. I have to think about how to handle this one. Going to have to change a few variables.
I would assume your playlist has the content set as TV Shows. If you set the content to episodes and reload the playlist via the context menu the issue should be no more.
EDIT: Updated Variables so it wont show a season/episode number if the content is TVShows.
