I was searching for a solution to this problem for quite some time. I tried different things (VDPAU, compositing off, waiting vor new nvidia drivers, ...), but nothing worked. I was determined to find a solution today (including generating logs, posting here, ...) and was lucky enought to finally come across this topic. Since I had the info view turned on as default action when selecting videos none worked and I never thought that the info screen could be the problem. THANK YOU A LOT for pointing it out! And great that there will be a solution to it with Gotham.
