Lol, this is my personal version of Arctic to which I add the dependencies I like the skin to have, obviously since I wrote the next up addon it will be included with my version. Have a look at the ftv skin which also has it added as a depandancy. if anyone does not like this they can uninstall this skin and that will allow the addon to be disabled/removed. RE: Arctic Zephyr - Custom version - jurialmunkey - 2015-07-03 Thats really not what the requires tag is for... At the very least you need to include an option in the addon's configuration to stop it from automatically running if users want to disable it. Unnecessary uninstalling and reinstalling just to disable an addon is extremely excessive. RE: Arctic Zephyr - Custom version - im85288 - 2015-07-03 Thanks for the advice, having written/contributed to a few addons (Python code) I'm more than aware of what the tags are used for, as I stated though in my version it is staying as I see it as an integral part of my mod. I don't actually see the reasoning for excessive install/uninstall. As far as I can see it's quite easy, users not wanting this uninstall this skin, delete/disable the next up addon, then install a different skin (as long as it's not ftv where it will be auto installed again). As this is a skin that is not in the official repo I don't see the problem, and that's why it has things such as BBC Iplayer and Netflix integration. If they clash with ones already in zephyr then youll need to rename them. best to kill kodi, delete the kodi.log then start and check log for errors. also edit keymap.xml and map <j>ReloadSkin</j>, then pressing j will reload skin after you have edited, saves restarting kodi each time. RE: Arctic Zephyr - Custom version - arithine - 2015-07-04 question, what are the hub items and how do i use them? Vertical is my preferred home screen type but I'm still using your mod because I find Arctic: Zephyr to be the best skin overall and your additions just throw it over the top. I was wondering the same thing myself. Thanks RE: Arctic Zephyr - Custom version - im85288 - 2015-07-04 I sure am, it should be ready to be released soonish. Just adding a few more little things such as being able to set a top250 and oscars menu item, import/export skin settings etc etc RE: Arctic Zephyr - Custom version - im85288 - 2015-07-05 Version 1.0.59 is now available in the repo and on github. This version syncs a few of the base skin changes such as the vertical menu and youtube browser support. It also has a few additions such as a selectable top250 and oscars home menu item (under common items - also copy the playlists from extras/playlists to userdata/playlists/video), better fallback cdart when nothing is available with hand written font, option to show cases (clearcase, colourcase, bd/dvd case) and some other changes that currently slip my mind RE: Arctic Zephyr - Custom version - Discomanhenk - 2015-07-05 @im85288 I like this mod really really really great. every week more beautiful Please would you like your creative eye objects to my question in post 75? Keep up the good work RE: Arctic Zephyr - Custom version - bsoriano - 2015-07-05 Ian, This skin just keeps getting better and better every day, thank you so much! The only things I am missing are: 1. The duration in the movie an TV views looks too big for me and does not go well with the colored flags. What files would I need to look at if I want to change that? 2. In the movie views you have an indicator for when the movie is in the IMDb Top 250, but it does not show what position it holds (like 5 or 10 or 200). Could you consider adding this? If not, what files would I need to look at to add this myself? 3. Flags for multiple subtitles instead of just the first one. 4. A button in the video info dialog to run Artwork Downloader to retrieve all artwork for the movie or TV show automatically. Thanks for considering my requests! Thanks What kind of thing are you looking for in the music visualisation area? Any skins/mods to look at that do things better? (2015-07-05, 13:54)bsoriano Wrote: Ian, Thanks, I agree with you about the duration...does not seem to match with the colour flags..any suggestions/mock ups for improvements? Also fully agree with the top 250 position..I did add that to the info dialog but not the flags, I will add that as it's going to help a lot especially with the new top250 menu item. The subtitles and languages should in theory display multiple flags if they are available. This is the code for the subtitle flags: <control type="image"> <top>6</top> <width>35</width> <height>23</height> <texture>$INFO[Window(movieinformation).Property(SubtitleLanguage.1),flags/language/,.png]</texture> <visible>!IsEmpty(Window(movieinformation).Property(SubtitleLanguage.1))</visible> </control> <control type="image"> <top>6</top> <width>35</width> <height>23</height> <texture>$INFO[Window(movieinformation).Property(SubtitleLanguage.2),flags/language/,.png]</texture> <visible>!IsEmpty(Window(movieinformation).Property(SubtitleLanguage.2))</visible> </control> <control type="image"> <top>6</top> <width>35</width> <height>23</height> <texture>$INFO[Window(movieinformation).Property(SubtitleLanguage.3),flags/language/,.png]</texture> <visible>!IsEmpty(Window(movieinformation).Property(SubtitleLanguage.3))</visible> </control> As you can see it will display the flag as long as it is not empty. I do not use ArtworkDownloader (due to Emby doing this automatically for me), should I remove the version that is currently there now where you can select individual artwork and replace it with the automatic get all artwork? Cheers RE: Arctic Zephyr - Custom version - Discomanhenk - 2015-07-05 @im85288 I like this ones http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=178254 Post 17 RE: Arctic Zephyr - Custom version - bsoriano - 2015-07-05 Ian, Thanks for your quick response! I wish I had designer skills to mock up the duration; unfortunately, I do not. Perhaps in the same font as the votes, in a smaller box or without a box? I will verify the subtitle flags with movies that I have with multiple subtitles, to see if any other show up, the code looks fine to me. In regards to Artwork Downloader, I think it would be best, to account for all of the different use cases, if you could have the button that is there today bring up a small menu with two options: Auto and Manual. Manual does the same thing the button does today, and Auto downloads all artwork automatically. How does that sound to you? One other thing that I have noticed is that the MPAA Certification still is not correct in movies that are rated R. No rating is shown for these movies.
