If somebody has an constructive idea what COULD cause this speed penalty is welcome to bring back that discussion.

Okay sorry. I'm not trying to bring up the topic again but I have a log, while its happening, if this could help you at all to see what could be the issue. Since I'm not really sure what these error's mean. I'm sorry, hopefully someone else knows what might be the issue. Thank you, Fred.

Thanks. That's what I call constructive. I have an idea but I'm not sure if this fixes it.

That's the only thing, which can cause the stuttering in my opinion.

Possible reason:
- 4 square items
- 3 poster images for each square item
- Kodi renders them in a mask with transparent areas, which can cause a higher load while the items are moving.

If you have added your own posters without resizing, you'll have another possible speed penalty.

I was thinking about one workaround when I saw your request and that is another dynamic content listing which will provide this for you...

something like plugin://script.skin.helper.service/?action=getgenres
which will return the genre listing with ListItem.Art(fanart1), ListItem.Art(fanart2) etc. prefilled.

That is pretty easy to add and with proper caching it shouldn't be too slow

Did this happen yet?

RE: fTV with full working and integrated LiveTV part - sualfred - 2016-02-11

@Hitcher nope.

But it has something to do with the genres.
Kodi tries to load all the genre thumbs even if the group is not visible. Hate that behaviour, but it seems there is the problem.

Edit:
Stupid me... the background tag -.-

I've pushed something to Github. Can you please run a test?

fTV with full working and integrated LiveTV part - stueeey - 2016-02-11

Hi guys, apologies if this has already been asked... and I realise the objective for this skin is to mimic the fTV... and I realise this request may move away from the design standard.

However I was just wondering whether rotating/moving widgets could be implemented? having your movie poster widgets shuffle across your screen would be rather cool.

I'm not entirely sure that this request could be implemented... it was just a thought.

thanks again for all your hard work.

RE: fTV with full working and integrated LiveTV part - sualfred - 2016-02-11

@stueeey:
Nope. No randomize function available on skin side.

@fach1708 @Oath
Please ping me if you have test results. I'm on the couch in the meantime.

I have done none of those.

Sadly it still lags Fred.

Will add a new log if that's what you're wanting though.

Grrr. That was the only thing I've noticed in the log.
Yep, please post another one.

Thanks. The errors are gone and the log seems to be okay.
No idea ....

No idea ....

I seems it is something with those textures. 2.0.10 is when it started happening. If I comment out all the lines that reference poster_empty.png, wide_empty.png and default_empty.png, it works fine, so it seems to be these extra textures causing the lag. For example I comment out all:

Code:
<texture background="true">common/poster_empty.png</texture>

I thought it might be the background tag too but that didn't work. I'll do a log as well tomorrow and see if anything pops up when you compare.

Cheers

EDIT: Just to add I'm referring to includeWidgetLayout.xml
