Have you checked the background setting in the skins music OSD settings or the Artist Slideshow settings if you have that set as the background?

I will never understand why people care about how many branches I have...

They are needed because different Kodi version have different requirements so the branches are used to keep development separate. I will keep every Kodi version that I work on from Helix and up. Any other branches are for me or testing or whatever I feel like using them for

To explain in more detail:
Every Kodi version has, sometime significant, changes to the skinning engine so you cannot add the changes for K*** to Isengard or Jarvis since they would be incompatible. Branches make it easier to keep up with Kodi skinning engine changes while not abandoning older versions.

For 3.: I don't know, if it is by design now?

Leave it as transparency and set it to 0%. Maybe the user has to do this setting again.

Play music fullscreen then open the player controls (M key or select/enter button) and select the settings icon.

@mikesilvo164: Here you go. The second image is when the menu is focused. That's the only time the background is shown. On images 1 and 3 the cursor is away from the main menu, which is when the background disappears.
