RE: Kodi on LG Web OS - xperhz - 2025-01-07

thanks, I use this one already. What bothers me though is that it only deletes dump files when starting Kodi. It would be much more useful if it could delete it when exiting, or if there would be the possibility to completely disable them.
This way the dump files take space completely until I restart Kodi OR I delete them manually after exit. And as I am not using Kodi all the time it bothers me that space for these making it impossible to update / install apps.

The other way would be sufficient if I could install Kodi to an USB for example but I suppose it is not possible through dev manager without rooting the device.

Good morning, Please help Kodi v21 displays only 1080 image, 4K files scale to 1080 degrading the details .
The new Kodi 20250108 and previous versions from 2025 display 4K well without 1:1 scaling, super O.K.
But after starting the movie with the remote control, you cannot navigate to the displayed menu. The image shakes, checkboxes jump. the file being played cannot be closed. Can't hit KODI exit button and other checkboxes. I have a TV

In /var/lib/webosbrew/init.d place a file (doesnt matter what name, just leave it without suffix) containing sysctl kernel.core_pattern=/dev/null

Edit: ah sorry. you are not rooted. this will not work without root (there is new method https://www.webosbrew.org/rooting/#faultmanager)

thanks the infor, it's great to see new method is available!
is rooting safe? I don't want to brick my brand new tv with some accident... also...
somewhere I read before that demo files can be deleted from media/preload/storedemo folder. Currently I do not see this folder on Dev Manager app. Is this hidden and I need to root the device before I can delete them?

Quoting the linked website:
Quote:Rooting your TV via software methods is generally safe, and having no consequences even if it fails.
However, reckless changes to the system can brick your TV, if you don't have proper knowledge and ignore warnings.
Not all TVs are preloaded with those demo videos.

Good morning, unfortunately the KODI version org.xbmc.kodi_20250110-8a0d510b-master_arm.ipk. The menu does not work after starting 4K videos. and the displayed movie subtitles tremble, - As in the previous lines, 2025. My TV has an alpha 8 processor. 120Hz. It's getting better, but not everything.

Oh, I see. Then it is probably not hidden because I am not rooted but because it is not there Big Grin
Thanks!
