Thanks to Paxxi and Rechi for doing all this work.

Just to see how these builds work out I've installed it and there's still many many bugs.
Like the memory mapping error on closing Kodi, PVR recordings not listed, 2.1 channelmapping not working for 5.1 streams, etc etc...
Do you guys want trac bug reports already or until the first official alpha build has been released?

RE: 64bit XBMC - Livin - 2017-05-13

Martijn, please release the alpha so the masses can help stabilize... I suspect 99.9% of windows users don't know this exists... And I bet 50% would use the 64bit version

I don't understand but I'll wait then.
All this does work right in 17.1, that's all I know so it's 18 issues at least.

and again that has zero to do if it's 64bit or not.

Since I still don't understand what you're trying to say (it's a cryptic to me, need a bit more on why it's not) I tried the 32 bits nightlies and same issues.
So as far as I'm concerned it's Kodi 18 issues whether you say it is or not (but definitely not x64 so you're right about that part). The prove to me is it working before in previous versions.
Well since obviously my time isn't appreciated in doing bug hunting I'll refrain from doing any trac reports till the stable builds of 18.

RE: 64bit XBMC - Martijn - 2017-05-13

ow jeez. already stepped on your toes or what.

I said it's not 64 bit related and that's it so any issue you find does not belong in this thread. But hey if you don't want it fixed it's up to you.

Not at all, I've a really thick skin, just like clear answers with a bit more then yes or no.
I wasn't going to use this thread to report bugs, just wanting to know if there was any interest in any bug reports yet (in trac, obviously not here).
Will leave it at that.

Binary addons are already compiled in previous versions, but not all. I've fixed a few screen savers to build on Windows 64-Bit.

Currently the following don't compile
  • audioencoder.flac
  • game.libretro.2048
  • imagedecoder.raw
  • inputstream.adaptive
  • inputstream.rtmp
  • pvr.mythtv
  • visualization.milkdrop
  • visualization.milkdrop2
  • visualization.vortex

Just a precision for those who jump on the 64 bits boat only now: this list seems to be actual (except maybe libretro.2048 that seems to appear in what the installer have in it)

I'm sure no offence was meant. However you are off-topic for this thread, that is a fact. Solution to that is for you to just start a new thread, simple as that. If you do not and continue posting off-topic stuff (in any thread) then you are "thread-hijacking" which is not only bad etiquette but also goes against all formal and informal forum rules on the internet.

RE: 64bit XBMC - yamcenutzer - 2017-05-16

I saw a talk given on build 2017 about kodi/windows.
How's the build environmnet coming along, are the 3rd party libs now ztaken from vcpkg or is it still using it's own downloaders.
That aside, is there an updated build environment setup howto?

Wait what? what are you on about?
There seems there's more than just 1 person mistaken my intentions here.
I won't start a new thread since there's nothing to create a new thread about?
Geez really, how can 1 simple question get so out of hand.

Now it's actual Wink
Many thanks Paxxi & Rechi.

edit: Well, that was with the previous (KodiSetup-20170516-3db90c95c9-master) nightly.
The current one seems to miss:
  • inputstream.adaptive
  • inputstream.rtmp
  • pvr.mythtv
  • visualization.milkdrop
  • visualization.milkdrop2

I think the previous build was mistakenly placed under win64, because on windows's task manager processes it appeared as kodi.exe*32 while running.
