RE: IPTVSimple PVR-addon with XMLTV EGP - gianpyc - 2013-07-12

Thanks afedchin,

Actually yesterday I got the solution by replacing the first row of a working xml-epg with that one that didn't work. So, I didn't follow your advice, but thanks the same.

Now, I am using the xml directly generated with xmltv tv_grab. So, I'm not getting any reading errors.

In the meantime I found a very interesting python script to merge two xmltv files. If someone needs can ask me

Cheers

Maybe you is right but in fact the IPTVSimple doesn't opens any stream, it provides a url of stream to the xbmc only.

I know you have touched this issue in the past, but would it be possible that the url in the m3u file be in the form of a plugin:// to which the plugin returns an rtmp url? This would solve the issue of including USTVNOW channels which require authentication to receive a token, and as well as streams that have rotating urls.

RE: IPTVSimple PVR-addon with XMLTV EGP - afedchin - 2013-07-12

without changes into xbmc isn't possible to use internal urls in m3u.

mc2xml is great at getting epg data and also merges xmltv files for you. you could even make a chl file and it will only get the channels you want, and even use a ren file to rename those channels to how you want them in the epg.

RE: IPTVSimple PVR-addon with XMLTV EGP - greco - 2013-07-13

@afedchin

I've tried all combinations possible to get live radio streams to show up inthe radio channel section. radio="true" radio=true radio="1" radio=1 and still the radio channels list is empty. Is there a magic formula to get my radio stations to show up in the radio channels section?

Also I have a HLS stream that only plays audio with IPTV but in a regular addon it plays the stream just fine.

RE: IPTVSimple PVR-addon with XMLTV EGP - dhead - 2013-07-13

@greco

For radio channels to list you need to use v0.1.3+ for Frodo, and on XBMC Gotham builds v1.8.0 already support radio.
Look at my signature for m3u example.

Thanks

I used mc2xml for getting EPG but the italian channels list is very poor. So, I quit it Sad

Look no further, http://webgrabplus.com/ is the best epg grabber out there.
Has a lot of sources to choose from. http://webgrabplus.com/epg-channels#stc_23

RE: IPTVSimple PVR-addon with XMLTV EGP - gianpyc - 2013-07-16

In these days I tried different xmltv-related project and yesterday I installed even webgrabplus. I followed the installation guide but I wasn't able to run that app. It was stuck during the first grabber phase (I think)

Now I'm using a xmltv.exe, which I found around but I do not remember where, that it is good both for uk and IT channels, the only disadvantages is that I have to merge both xml file at the end to use with pvr:xmltv.

Just as information, what is the last pvr:xmltv version for Mac os? the 0.1.0?

Cheers

The latest official version can be obtained with latest nightly build of xbmc for all platforms.

Thanks.

RE: IPTVSimple PVR-addon with XMLTV EGP - Maniac - 2013-07-18

Does the latest nightly build include the fix for EPG without BOM-headers?
Thanks

RE: IPTVSimple PVR-addon with XMLTV EGP - afedchin - 2013-07-18

Unfortunately, no, it doesn't. Currently the PR that solves this issue not merged into master.

RE: IPTVSimple PVR-addon with XMLTV EGP - Maniac - 2013-07-18

Ok thanks.

One more thing, there is a function in XBMC, called Repeat All. If a video\stream stops then you can enable "Repeate" so that it starts again when it stops.
This works in LiveStreams, but not in this plugin, is this something you can fix or is this perhaps a xbmc PVR-bug?

Actually I tried this version but it is very buggy with pvr:xmltv add-on. In addition, I wasn't able to show EPGs that with the frodo and pvr:xmltv properly works

@afedchin, have you planned to implement record and playback function in the next versions of the addon?

Thanks

I was just wondering if there's a way to get this nice add-on to work with MediaPortal as well.
