Transcode AAC 5.1 to Dolby/DTS 5.1 for receiver - tom66 - 2013-09-11 I have a Yamaha RX-V459 AV receiver which only supports PCM, Dolby 5.1 and DTS 5.1 over coax. A lot of my content has an AAC 5.1 soundtrack. My receiver does not support AAC so I disabled that feature. But, I only get 2.0 sound from these channels (I can see the two speaker icons on my receiver only compared to normal 5.1 surround with all 6 speakers), and it's transmitted over uncompressed PCM. Is it possible to make XBMC transcode the AAC 5.1 into Dolby or DTS 5.1, so I get surround sound content from these files? Thanks RE: Transcode AAC 5.1 to Dolby/DTS 5.1 for receiver - Memphiz - 2013-09-12 Depending on the version of XBMC and the platform you are using this is already possible and automagically done. RE: Transcode AAC 5.1 to Dolby/DTS 5.1 for receiver - tom66 - 2013-09-12 I'm on XBMC 12.2. It doesn't appear to work, unless I'm missing something? Is this an XBMC 13 feature? I am using the default AVR SPDIF settings suggested here: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=AudioEngine/HOW-TO:_Configure_audio#Audio_Output_Settings_Guide Thanks RE: Transcode AAC 5.1 to Dolby/DTS 5.1 for receiver - tom66 - 2013-09-12 D'oh... I had AC3 turned off. It appears to work now. |
