See this post for details on how to install this subscene addon:

@AnonTester  Thank You for your help.

It's very strange.
I installed the add-on throught the official Kodi depository.
The name of the add-on is "Subscene" and it talks about the site subscene.com

Instead of that I uninstall this add-on and tried to install with your depo... and it's work very well.
So thank you very much.

Have a nice day.

That may well be, but in order for me to be able to help, I need a debug log of the latest addon version.

The log you provided before only shows that it's unable to access subscene.com to get a list of the available subtitles.

MrGonzo,
It appears your IP/country/system is being blocked by subscene and the addon doesn't even get anything back from subscene.com. There's nothing I can do. Try accessing the subscene.com website from a system (mobile phone, PC) in the same network as your kodi system, maybe that helps.

dart3210,
please create and post a debug log. Screenshots are not sufficient for me to help. See the link in my signature with details of how to create and post a debug log.

That doesnt make sense.....Before all this Subscene update crap, the Subscene addon worked perfectly. Never changed a thing on my end except I updated the addon as everyone said to because of Subscene's site changes.
I can access the Subscene website and DL through regular browser just fine, so dont understand how my country/system would be getting blocked by the site through the addonHuh

Someone mentioned before that the "No subtitles found" error maybe because Subscene site is not allowing "non browser" requests to their site. Could this be the issue?

RE: service.subtitles.subscene - AnonTester - 2022-05-11

Subscene is using cloudflare as their host and cloudflare has various methods to protect their sites. Your logs show that your system does not get any response from subscene, so something is being blocked and the add-on doesn't get anything to process.
error message in your logs:
Code:
2022-05-08 23:40:03.609 T:2528 DEBUG: ### [SubsceneUtilities] 0.162000 - Failed to get url: https://subscene.com/subtitles/searchbytitle?query=Rounders

Enable the debug options in the add-on settings and send another log, then there may be a more detailed message from the cloudflare servers.

The add-on emulates a browser, but does not have Javascript or other functions and if cloudflare asks for a capcha or does a more in-depth check, then the request will fail.

RE: service.subtitles.subscene - AnonTester - 2022-05-11

Unfortunately the new log doesn't show anything more, but there may be an issue with the debug log setting I added. I'll make some adjustments and release a new version, but won't be able to get to this before next week.

RE: service.subtitles.subscene - MrGonzo - 2022-05-12

Ok no prob. Ill wait for ur new version...

RE: service.subtitles.subscene - htcguy - 2022-05-23

service.subtitles.subsceneplus from the Kodi repository.

This used to work fine and suddenly stopped retrieving subs for a while now saying Subtitles not found. What's the issue?

is the only alternative is from the Wuff repository as others have suggested?

Here is a debug log

EDIT
Quote:is the only alternative is from the Wuff repository as others have suggested?
Wuff's Works Smile
Still curious why the official subtitle addon doesn't work.

EDIT#2

Looks like subs are not retrieved for Non-English movies.
Says no subtitles found for Korean, Russian and Persian movies I tried. English movies are fine.

RE: service.subtitles.subscene - AnonTester - 2022-05-24

@htcguy Re Subtitle Plus, this is not my addon and I do not know who maintains it or if it is even still maintained. There were various subscene addons around, some worked, some stopped working. I have not submitted this one to the kodi repository as I don't feel that it is stable enough, but it's getting there.

Re your edit 2: the subscene addon can only return something that is available on subscene.
These are the three movies you tried in korean/russian/arabic and subscene returns nothing for either of them:
https://subscene.com/subtitles/searchbytitle?query=%E1%84%90%E1%85%A2%E1%86%A8%E1%84%89%E1%85%B5%E1%84%8B%E1%85%AE%E1%86%AB%E1%84%8C%E1%85%A5%E1%86%AB%E1%84%89%E1%85%A1
https://subscene.com/subtitles/searchbytitle?query=%D0%91%D1%80%D0%B5%D1%81%D1%82%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%B0%D1%8F+%D0%BA%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%BF%D0%BE%D1%81%D1%82%D1%8C
https://subscene.com/subtitles/searchbytitle?query=%D8%AC%D8%AF%D8%A7%DB%8C%DB%8C+%D9%86%D8%A7%D8%AF%D8%B1+%D8%A7%D8%B2+%D8%B3%DB%8C%D9%85%DB%8C%D9%86

It's possible you might be able to find subtitles using english translated titles of those movies or transliterated titles rather than using the original language and script.

Very strange, never had issues before from retrieving subs for non-English movies.
Also for some reason, it is retrieving the subs in the native language of the film despite the name of the file is in English alphabets.

The movies are in subscene.
Shouldn't the addon search using the filename? I have listed he name of the files I have.

https://subscene.com/subtitles/a-taxi-driver (A.Taxi.Driver.2017)
https://subscene.com/subtitles/fortress-of-war-aka-brest-fortress-brestskaya-krepost (The.Brest.Fortress.2010)
https://subscene.com/subtitles/a-separation-jodaeiye-nader-az-simin (A.Separation.2011)

Again, it is for some reason searching for subs in actual Korean, Persian and Russian letters, not English letters. Can this be tweaked?

RE: service.subtitles.subscene - kim1406 - 2022-05-28

Any chance to have this plugin working again? I tried it on Kodi 18 and still cannot find subtitles.
