I have a directory where all my dvds are at, when I set my view to FullScreenWall it works great when I'm in that area, but when I exit out back to the Main Menu and go back in the skin changes my view to RightList. How do I get this area to stay with the FullScreenWall just this particular area? The settings arent sticking for me.

Also how do I change other areas to their own default views without going into each and everyone. What files do you have to edit?

Thanks

Try deleting your viewmodes.db file from the userdata (wiki) Database folder and see if they start staying. If you are using an addon then you would need to take it up with the developer of that addon.

I tried deleting that and they still aren't sticking. I don't think I am using an addon, I installed The Beast package which included your skin, so there is a bunch of stuff that comes with that, but not sure if there is an addon that is affecting this. It keeps defaulting to the RightList mode.

Seriously!? Did you download that from the Kod.tv website or forums? Have you even read the forum rules (wiki)? That answer is a definite no. If you want things to work correctly then do not use "builds" containing banned add-ons (wiki). It is not that hard to realize what is allowed or will work correctly... do you have hard drives containing your media files? If the answer is no, which I assume it has to be since a simple google search of what you mentioned explains it all, do not expect things to work the way they will when not using illegal streaming addons. I do not provide support for Kodi installs using my skin if you did not download and install Kodi from http://kodi.tv/download/ or my skin from the first post, my repo, or its GitHub page.

I'd appreciate if all those who use "community builds" or banned add-ons (wiki), instead of coming here, ask support questions to the person who made "The Beast" or any of those crappy builds/addons. I have nothing to do with any of that shit and will never help anyone using them. Delete the build, install the official Kodi program, then my skin from the aforementioned sources only, and if it then does not work post a new question or deal with the issues you do not like while stealing your content.

If you do use local media files then you would have no problems since you could upgrade to the latest Kodi and skin versions but those that pirate are mostly stuck on Helix since the illegal addons cannot keep up with the rapid pace Kodi upgrades...

Not sure if you realized this by now but I hate dealing with this crap and have absolutely zero tolerance when it comes to dealing with this. Go to a different forum or thread if you want help using this stuff. All of this is explained in the Forum Rules (wiki) and my FAQ in the first page of this thread. Reading is FUNdemental.

I'm back to just OpenElec running Kodi. Starting from scratch, did not even realize these were banned. Learn something new everyday. Thanks for advice.

Then feel fee to ignore my previous rant, I am just tired of it so it was not personal or directed solely at you.

If you still have issues with the latest version of Kodi Isengard and the skin, feel free to post any problems and I will do my best to help but be prepared to provide a debug log (wiki) and select the easy method in that wiki link to make it as painless as possible. Hopefully everything works as you expect it to Wink

I hear you. I think the problem is my hardware actually, I have one of the old Atom ION boxes with the latest version of OpenElec and I have to reboot this thing 5-10 times before I can get this software to come up, so I'm using the Legacy package and still same problems happen. Default skin works great, but wanted something more fancy looking, to display my media files on my hard drives that I have Smile

OpenElec can be a bit odd sometimes. If you have issues with it I recommend visiting there forums for suggestions or perhaps providing a bug report that may solve the problems you are experiencing. To my knowledge it is designed to be low on resources so the skin should work as long as it is the correct one for the OpenElec version you have installed. I have heard from a few that this skin performs reasonably well on an rPi2. The old Helix skin is really poorly coded from when I had no idea what I was doing Tongue I never took the time to do a code cleanup like I did with the Isengard and up versions.

@mikeSiLVO

I see you updated string file. Will send you the last translation. It seems that Mr V. will not update his widget on isengard anymore; So he will not make it compatible to the last skinshortcut mod. Sad(((
The mod will only be updated on Jarvis Sad

Thanks, I appreciate it whenever you or Mario take the time to update your respective strings files. I tried to submit the skin to be added to transifex for translations but I think mods from skins in the Kodi repo are not allowed or might cause confusion so I guess it has to be manually updated for the foreseeable future.

If anybody wants something in particular added from the Mr. V widget mod. I can try to add it to my less customizable versions since it may just be helpful to his update in the long run Wink

Updated German strings will follow these weekend Wink

You need to download the GitHub version and alter the contents of the media folder by replacing the images in the correct location. If you have extracted the contents of the Textures.xbt file, did you make sure to delete or remove it from the media folder after?

If you are talking about the main menu they are in in media\views\list\

Hi mikesilvo64 - about downloading the github version , do i download isengard version or the master version and do you just copy and paste from the zip into the skin.aeon.nox.silvo folder in addons because if i try to install the zip kodi says install fail and the master version dependency not met - so do i just copy and paste and take the texture file out then add my cases to media directory

(2015-10-01, 20:09)Tatts4Life Wrote: So I'm running into one issue and I don't want to delete something and not be able to recover it in the future if I want to use it. I want to disable some of the menu options but I don't see that feature any more only a delete option near the bottom. Is there a way to disable a main menu option but not delete it? I haven't tried deleting because maybe some time in the future I'll want to have a live tv menu option.

I have been thinking about this and I am torn on if I should start thinking about adding a custom property/visibility to do this or make a feature request for skin.shortcuts to have this built in or if users should just delete and change what they want since the point of this addition is to be able to add and customize whatever you feel the need to. Live TV or any other menu item can be added back in whenever you want, just add a new item and choose the correct action, so the defaults do not need to be "saved" for later use. I only added defaults so there would be little difference between new installs of the old skin or those coming from the original Nox 5 to this new version but I expect most to delete and alter the menu to their liking and add to it whenever they want to use/add a new item. If things get to the point that you would just like to start from scratch there is a new reset all skin.shortcuts button as the last option under Skin settings > Home window. The only issue would be if you delete the way to get to skin settings since that would stop you from accessing the shortcuts menu so it could potentially lock you out of changing the menu.

As one of the contributors of the Skin Shortcuts script, I'm torn on this one myself. Balancing between being able to recreate any menu item that you delete, versus being able to hide an unused menu item (though if you don't have a PVR backend, most skins will hide the PVR menu's anyway, so they can just be ignored) is not easy.

If it's something anyone feels strongly about, feel free to post it as a feature request in the Skin Shortcuts thread in the Skinning forum. In terms of coding it, though, it's not an easy one as it would either require every skin using Skin Shortcuts to incorporate an additional GUI button to enable/disable any given shortcut, or would mean that you could disable a shortcut on a skin that supports it, but not be able to re-enable it if you switched to a skin that didn't support it....

I did have a thought, hopefully not a terrible one Confused, since adding an additional required button seems like the wrong way to go...

What about adding an additional option to RunScript(script.skinshortcuts, type=resetall) to show a list of defaults?

Something like Restore All, Restore Single, Exit instead of just Yes/No. Then one could add back a deleted default menu item or restore it to it's defaults if it was modified. Perhaps make it an optional thing to enable in overrides.xml or even a new RunScript call Huh
