Hi all
Apologies if this has been answered before, 312 pages to this topic and don't fancy looking through Rofl.
My first time trying to create a build...
Really basic I'm sure but I can't seem to work out how to change the background for each menu. I go into the main menu and select background and single image from menu and it just shows the repos i have added and not my hdd so I can not search my hdd for the image.
Is this right?

Not reading 312 pages I get, I really do. But the question you ask is dealt with to various degrees in four different posts in the last two pages, and fully dealt with in two posts on the third page back. Long story short, add it as a source to the File manager (wiki). If you struggle to manage that then please read the last two pages of the thread Smile

On a more serious note, the Skin Shortcuts script (which, for those who aren't aware is responsible for managing the main menu including the backgrounds) has what I would like to think of as some of the best documentation for skinners. Where it is definitely lacking is in end-user documentation, including this query which has to be the most-asked question I see regarding skins using the script.

My plan is to spend some time writing an end user FAQ (with this question at its heart) - but if anyone else has any other Skin Shortcuts (and therefore non-skin-specific-but-rather-script-that-manages-the-main-menu-specific question, please let me know Smile

Edit: Whilst I appreciate people's enthusiasm, please let me know publicly and not via PM. I don't think Mike will have any issue with you posting ideas for a public user FAQ in this thread but if you're not comfortable posting here please post in the Skin Shortcuts thread in the Skin Development forum (you have my permission to do so!). I'm more likely to either berate or entirely ignore you if you contact me with such via PM Smile

Hi Mike,

Can you enable showcase view for TV show specials too please, (Jarvis)...? I've tried altering the Showcase view 53 xml file by copying and adding specials wherever I saw seasons, but don't really know what I'm doing and looks like there'll be other xml files to change too since that didn't work for me.... Or can someone direct me to a thread that shows what and how to change the xml files please?

Edit - Just realized it's because Specials are actually like episodes... Problem is that a lot of specials are DVD type compliations, so it'd be great to display them in a nicer showcase format like seasons, but not sure if this is possible?

Hi there wonder if you can help me. I have made a build using aeon nox silvo mod. And when I install it on another device my backgrounds do not show. Can you tell me where I will find the xml To change it to special://

It's only enough to add special:// if the backgrounds are available via the special protocol (wiki). However, the file isn't designed to be manually edited so there's only limited support that can be given.

Im trying to find this out too. Once I upload my build and reinstall it using the plugin my backgrounds dont show up. Can it be done?

I have an issue with episode text missing.
Running v17 Kodi and the gip copy must be a few week old silvo

All the episodes in every season has text missing. Only way to fix it is to switch the episode view and it repopulates again. Reboot didn't fix it and the default Estuary skin has no issues

Has this been reported before in Jarvis?

I have a problem with the Trakt intergration:

When I go into a certain add-on-> Trakt -> Tv Shows I see everything like it should (watched episodes, seaons etc)

When I use the shortcut on my homescreen, there is a lot missing. But when I go back to the add-on, open the Trakt menu and then go back to the shortcut, the missing series etc are showing up.

Example 1: I browse a certain section in an add-on and put movies I like in my "Trakt-watchlist" with the "c-button". When I go back to my shortcut on the homescreen the just added movies are not vissable. Now I go direct to the add-on-> Trakt-watchlist: the movies are vissible ofcourse. Now I go back to the list using my homescreen and all of the sudden they also appear here.

Example 2: I use the "only show unseen episodes". When I watched everything from a series, nothing shows up (like it supposed to). But when I wait a couple of weeks and there are two new episodes they are also not showing up in the menu using the homescreen. When I open the show directly using the add-on-> Trakt collection list, I see these episodes. Now I go back to the menu in the homescreenand now they are also visible there.

Is this a bug in the skin? Or am I doing wrong myself?

Was Add-ons removed from the main system menu?
Budget and revenue is a silly mistake on my part... I am using the translations from the extended info script when I should add them to the skin instead. BigNoid added a new custom addon browser so you can either go to setup the aeon nox main menu scroll down to the bottom on the right hand side, select restore, and choose APPS. Alternatively you can add ActivateWindow(1133) as a custom command anywhere you would like to access it.

If you want to make the main menu more transparent you can use the color customization option if you have script.skin.helper installed. I wouldn't recommend it though since things like the rssfeed have animation transitions hidden behind it.

How do I fix extendedinfo script to work with the globalsearch icon instead?
I edited the home and includes.xml to script.extendedinfo but when I click it it brings up the imdb,movie lists section instead.
