I can absolutely believe it does make you stop and wonder guys but please don't think for a second that the userbase for Kodi or your skin is in any way represented by the small number of very vocal clowns who sh*tpost here. Putting myself in your shoes, I can imagine that simply withdrawing your support and naming and shaming said posters would be a good vent for frustration but they really aren't who you do this for. Most of us appreciate what you do and would me most upset if you stopped because of idiots like this. Just my 2 penneth, want you guys to know you have genuine support.

RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO - SimonC - 2016-05-09

Just did the update on my W10 box, switched over to Confluence then did the update. I got all the warnings regarding resetting the main menu. Can't wait to dive into this update, thanks!

thnx
Hmmm. That's a weird one. What is the opacity set to for the highlight bar in the color customization section? Mind posting a pic? Can you try reinstalling the skin?

I think it's worth it Smile You don't burn the orchard cause of a few bad apples. Or in this case bad rows of apple trees Wink

I believe it was more a case that they didn't like the scripts default warning/confirmation, so were planning to implement their own. Probably with the toolbox script.

I was going to, but the users here seem more surreal than the Python's these days. So, my next codename will be: FOR MIKESILVO164 IF YOUR NOT HOM DONT REPLY Big Grin

I learnt long ago you have to do these things to get a skin you want out of it. If it's all for the users, they'll wear you down eventually Wink

Edit: Just read my last comment back and realised it came across more negatively than I intended. By the comment, I mean that if you have created a skin you want to use then it's absolutely worth it. If others also get pleasure out of using the skin, then that's just cherry-on-the-top. If you create a skin just to get plaudits from users then you're in for disappointment as, unfortunately, the vocal group will always be the unsatisfied. Having said that, it's nice to see people saying how much they like the skin and, Mr Doc, I'm absolutely certain that there are equal numbers who enjoy MadNox.
Pretty please use that as your next codename Tongue No matter what I will continue to reply, at least until this HOM individual shows up and takes over Cool

I quite enjoy adding things for others (when it fits the design or is a good idea of course) but I agree. It is impossible to please everyone cause taste and opinion can vary wildly. Doing everything for everyone will eventually blow up in your face... or just cause so much unpleasantness one might not want to continue.

Text overlapping and a color customizer thing !!!
BannerWall color issue should be fixed. Not sure what to do concerning the overlap without removing the episode thumb. Thinking of switching to say Aired instead of First aired. Do you think that will fit Huh

RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO - votkavisnja - 2016-05-10

I also had issue with transparent bar and complete skin was messed up.Just to clarify everything went wrong after last skin update. So I uninstall the skin and install it again from repo.
Now everything is perfect like before. Thank you all on your amazing work

Hi,
First post in the thread just to say thank you, installed Aeon Nox Silvo from the SEO Michael link and it's lovely - gonna reinstall the Jarvis-specific tonight but thanks again, the custom widget function is much easier than any free software has a right to be Big Grin

RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO - primitivereason - 2016-05-10

Hi guys, specially for mikesilvo. I guess I am partially responsible for all the late complaints. I really didn't want to cause this kind of trouble, and as I said before, I really didn't mean to be naggy. I got to say that I love this skin mod and when it updated and broke my setup, I panicked. Has anyone else updated since my "panic explosion"? Can we consider this "issue" fixed, and can I update? Big Grin

RE: Aeon Nox 5: SiLVO - flhthemi - 2016-05-10

I am no expert by any means but I would say you can with one word of caution...WAIT

Be patient let it run it's course. On slower devices it might take upwards of five minutes to get away from the black screen of death Wink

Oh, and make a backup first! (just to err on the side of safety) Don't use one of those backup tools to do it...just copy the entire kodi folder off some place safe.

I think that the problem lies with the way Kodi updates skins.

I have seen this many times with the Titan skin where if the skin is in use when it gets updated, the screen will go black for a long period of time and you don't know what is going on. It was actually one of the reasons i switched my family back to Aeon Nox 5: Silvo... Titan skin was being updated too often! lol

As an experienced user and someone who leaves all his machines on 24/7, it usually is not a problem for me as i just figure the skin is updating or it happens when i am not in front of it.

But for users like my parents and cousins who use Kodi mainly for the PleXBMC add-on to connect to my Plex server, they have no clue what is going on.

If you load Kodi and are ready to watch TV and suddenly the screen goes black, your first instinct is to press the remote/keyboard left, right, click OK, etc...

So i have no problems believing that people pressed OK to something they didn't see. It would be nice if Kodi would warn you that the skin you are currently using is being updated and the screen may go black and to just be patient. That would take care of the panic people feel when they think stuff is not working Smile

That would be why, at least for Skin Shortcuts own confirmation (though I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same for Silvo's) the 'No' button is focused by default (and that also being the default action on 'back') - Just pressing the remote is more likely to result in the reset being cancelled than it going ahead Wink

It would indeed be nice for Kodi to provide more feedback when updating a skin, unfortunately suggesting it in a skin thread is unlikely to get the attention of those who could do something about it Smile

@mikesilvo164,

Do you receive my message a week ago ? Hope so. What about those transifex ? We need to go there or we just can do as always (send to you string file) ?

Thanks.
