I know, but I hate that layout. It just looks weird. Thanks for the suggestion though. Big Grin

cant you change em around and have 'episodes aired today at the top " ?

It looks like the checkboxes for the ratings are still visible, I'll have to check it on the TV as I changed the settings via the PC monitor.

The checkboxes marked what you have watched. They have nothing to do with ratings Huh

Hmmm...

The skin assumes there is some content to show. I will have to work on this and get back to you.

RE: Aeon Nox: SiLVO - Kev1900 - 2019-11-25

Super weird problem.
So I designed my own build using aeon Nox:Silvo.
I back up my build from the firestick using AdbLink to my laptop. I then connect to other Firesticks and use the restore function in AdbLink to push my build.
Here is where it gets weird!
If I do this at my house, the Firesticks program perfect. Aeon Nox:Silvo the way I custom designed it shows up when you boot Kodi.
If I go to a friends house and program their sticks, using the same laptop with my build on it, and using AddbLInk in the exact same way as I do at my house, the Aeon Nox skin is not installed and the default is estuary skin. I can take their stick to my house and it programs perfect.
I am at a loss on this one.
It is definitely much easier to program at friends houses.
Thanks is advance for any help!!!!!

When browsing Movies and calling up the Info screen (default selection), for some reason the Plot panel is always highlighted and has focus rather than the panel with Play, etc.  I have to scroll up to get to the Play button.

This is not Extended Info, it's the standard info screen.  Works as expected in Music.

Any thoughts?

It's been a while since I have updated, apologies if this has been asked and answered or if there is a setting I haven't found.
Been a while, trying this again and same results (updating from Krypton).  Cinemavision is installed, updated and active and works just fine, in case that's still a suspected cause.

I have run across something though, and I'm not sure if it's just supposed to be that way by design, or if it's something to do with my configuration.

I've found that, on the "Titles Screen", whether it be Movies or TV Shows, the fan art is not rotating... as in each movie only shows a single image.  I'm using the Showcase view (but I've confirmed the same inaction on others), and, under the Background option, have both Fanart & Extra-fanart enabled.   I've toggled them on / off, but no change.

Now, this may be "as intended", but, since the Extra-fanart option is available, it makes me think that the fanart should cycle, as it does with other skins.

My media is all stored on a central NAS, and the Extra-fanart is stored under each movie folder, in a folder named extrafanart.

Any thoughts?.

@RobbieWilkes You say it is in folders but Kodi doesn't know about those folders so you need to either utilize the latest artwork features available to Kodi or setup and run Artwork Beef which has options to add the fanart from your extrafanart folders to the Kodi Artwork DB..
Mike,

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond.  I have taken your advice, and reviewed, and tried to implement the changes to my existing AdvancedSettings.xml file, but have not had any luck.  To that end, this is the videolibrary portion from the file:

   <videolibrary>
    <recentlyaddeditems>400</recentlyaddeditems>
    <movieextraart>
      <arttype>banner</arttype>
      <arttype>clearart</arttype>
      <arttype>clearlogo</arttype>
      <arttype>discart</arttype>
      <!-- Add as many farnart as required. -->
      <arttype>fanart1</arttype>
      <arttype>fanart2</arttype>
      <arttype>fanart3</arttype>
      <arttype>fanart4</arttype>
      <arttype>keyart</arttype>
      <arttype>landscape</arttype>
    </movieextraart>
  </videolibrary>

In looking at the examples, and working with one specific movie, I tried to pull the image files from the extrafanart sub-folder, and drop them in the movie folder, alongside the video file, poster, etc., and rename them as movietitle-fanart#.ext [Zombieland (2009)-fanart1.jpg], as per the example on the link... but still no luck.  I also tried to modify the xml to point into the extrafanart sub-folder   [<arttype>extrafanart/fanart1</arttype> ] but that didn't get me anywhere either.

In searching further, I found this string:

Extra fanart not cycling (307)

In which nprince describes his process, which is, essentially the same as mine, and you indicated that he needed script.toolbox installed, and then to called "Download extrafanart".   So, I launched the script.toolbox and ran "Add extrafanart to movie library", which seemed to do something... but nothing changed.

In reading through the rest of that thread, it seemed to indicate the need for Artwork Beef, which I don't have, and was trying to avoid installing, so that I wouldn't have to cache the images locally... which I assumed is what the changes to the AdvancedSettings.xml file was supposed to provide, but I may be misunderstanding.

As I mentioned, I originally started developing my build in a different skin (Aeon MQ 7 - Leia Mod) but then switched to SiLVO.  To make sure I remembered correctly, I loaded it tonight, and checked, and it does rotate the fanart... but I'm not how or why.

Am I somehow missing something simple?  You said "Kodi doesn't know about those folders", but I didn't really see how to tell Kodi exactly where to look.

Anyway, nothing major... I just like to figure things out, so I understand what's going on, and I often find myself digging into things that aren't really that important, and just bug me. LOL!

Thanks again!

That won't work as you discovered. There is no provision for that in the code

If you go to the Information Page of one of your movies, select Choose Art. Do you see a listing of all the new Art Types? Do those new Art Types have images attached to them?

Also, was going a bit cross-eyed trying to read your post. A cheat sheet on editor options. Use button 25 for code snippets...

Hey Karellen,

You're always there to help!  I was looking for that button, but could not remember what it was.  Thanks for the reminder!

Yes, when I go into movie information, and then pick "Choose Art", I have the art types (clearart, clearlogo, etc.), as well as images.

I then confirmed that I do not have those options on the systems that have the older AdvancedSettings.xml.

HOWEVER, if I copy the new AdvancedSettings file over to another pc, upon which I have NOT run the toolbox script, the options show up under "Choose Art", but NOT the images.

Which would lead me to believe that it's not actually looking at the images in place (on my NAS), but is, instead, looking at what was cached locally, by the toolbox script.  Does that sound right?  Is that as intended?

RE: Aeon Nox: SiLVO - Karellen - 2019-11-26

@RobbieWilkes

Adding the advancedsettings.xml file is the first step. Then you need a source of artwork so lets assume you are using local artwork. Once the advancedsettings.xml file is added with the artwork entries, then the movies need to be Refreshed back into the library. When this is done, Kodi will rescan the local folder and load any extra images it now discovers.

Have you done that? Provide a Debug Log if you have and it is not working.

Thanks for looking.

There is a small typo in DialogVideoInfo.xml line #4 for the condition when CinemaVision is installed.

xml:

<onload condition="![Window.IsActive(home) + String.IsEqual(ListItem.DBTYPE,tvshow)] + ![String.IsEqual(Skin.String(CinemaVision.Button),$LOCALIZE[31232]) | System.HasAddon(script.cinemavision)]">SetFocus(8)</onload>
It should be:
xml:

<onload condition="![Window.IsActive(home) + String.IsEqual(ListItem.DBTYPE,tvshow)] + ![String.IsEqual(Skin.String(CinemaVision.Button),$LOCALIZE[31232]) + System.HasAddon(script.cinemavision)]">SetFocus(8)</onload>

Will be fixed on Git sometime today or tomorrow but you can fix it yourself by overwriting that line.

@RobbieWilkes That thread and response about script.toolbox is over 2 and 1/2 yrs old. It is no longer accurate information.

Artwork Beef is the stop gap for those that do not want to move their images and use Kodi's new built in way to cache and display extended artwork without the use of an additional add-on.

Okay, thanks to your getting it through my thick head that I needed to refresh the movie so that the art would be loaded, I've finally overcome my stubborn mental block, and got it "working".  :-)

Things I now think I understand, but please correct me if I'm wrong:
  1. That the files with the generic names are not going to work in the extrafanarts folder.
  2. That the extrafanart files will need to be moved into the folder with the movie, and named with the moviename-farnart#.jpg
  3. That the movies will then need to be refreshed in order for the new images to be discovered
  4. That, by doing so, the images are NOT copied locally?  Yes?  No?  Maybe?
  5. That I will write a quick little script to cycle through my movie & tv shows folders, and rename / move the files that are currently in the extrafanart folders.
  6. That, for new movies / tv shows that I add, I will investigate the settings in Ember Media Manager to see if there is a way to handle the extrafanart naming / folder placement there instead, and, if not post it as a suggestion to the author.
  7. That, if 6 is a no-go, I will, instead, implement my rename script going forward for new movies / tv shows.
Again, thanks to you @Karellen (as always) and @mikeSiLVO for taking the time to assist as I delve too deep into the minutiae, shift my thought paradigm from what I think, to what truly is.

Sounds right. Item 4- The Images are NOT copied locally. You will need Artwork Beef to do that for you.

Thanks Smile
