Did you try to update your HDMI to latest version?

Update HDMI? You mean the Intel drivers?

HDMI Firmware upgrade

Firmware updating can't be started!
Please shut down system for a while and restart it!

Getting that error.

Well guys, reading your posts I'm now confused Confused
What's the point of using HDMI 2.0 port on BeeBox?
I'm currently using HDMI 1.4, my Windows and Kodi are setup as 1920x1080p 60Hz and FULL 3D/SBS/TAB work perfect, then, when I play 4K movie, Windows/Kodi switch to 2160p, and came back to 1080p when I stop the movie.
I know HDMI 2.0 can be used for HDR, but Kodi doesn't support it, so, why should I use HDMI 2.0?

the issue with HDMI2.0 port is hardware related. seems chip DP->HDMI2.0 doesn't work well.

Must be connected to HDMI 2.0 set at 4K@30HZ and HDMI firmware update will run just fine.

That is what i am suggesting HDMI 1.4 until the whole HDR and HDMI 2.0 get resolved, i got my setting to HDMI 1.4 and it works great.

With Kodi, even w/o HDR, the benefit of HDMI 2.0 is 4K@60 (vs. @30) and 10-bit (vs. 8-bit).

Can't you use both the 1.4 (for 3D) and 2.0 (for 4K) ports via different inputs on your AVR to TV/projector?
Edit: I see in the Kaby Lake thread @Caramba69 is doing exactly this.

According to my post on the last page, even 2.0 isn't outputting 60hz on 4k movies, right? The last number is the hz?

Well it depends on the clip you're playing, I have an hdr clip that plays at 4K@60 but of course no HDR.

Interesting, how do I tell what it should be playing at? The "o" menu while playing? Also what exactly is HDR

I think Kodi's output is still 8-bit on Windows/Linux (I could be wrong). Also, it is not just lack of HDR. You can't get wide color gamut (BT.2020) output. HDR clips are rendered in BT.709 8-bit probably converted to 10-bit by graphics driver settings.

Hi all,

I'm thinking of swapping out my Nvidia 750ti low profile card for the new MSI GTX 1050 ti low profile. I tried the NUC route and wasn't happy with the current offerings (wanted 10bit and other features).

Is this a viable card to offer full hardware support for MVC decoding, 10bit and etc to have the "final" complete KODI solution?

I realize this is the Intel thread but I couldn't really find another place to ask the question related to the Kodi mvc/3d builds.

Thanks!

I haven't had much luck with GTX 1060. If you set the desktop resolution to 1080p, 3D MVC MKV works with the latest MVC build. 3D ISO results in just audio, no video.

Thanks. I may just wait for the kaby lake based processors to arrive along with matx motherboards and do a full system rebuild. Not really concerned about gaming on the HTPC anyway so the intel stuff should work fine.

I should add that 4k is a requirement for me as well.

For HDR HDMI 2.0a is a must, or is it? Most new barebone's that are there at this moment (Beebox) or are coming soon (NUC's) lacking the "a" specification so no HDR output?

From what I read, GTX 1050 with GP107 seems more optimized for HTPC (e.g. 10-bit VP9). 3D MVC from ISO works flawlessly for me with Skylake i5-6500. I am getting a 4K TV soon and getting a new CPU/motherboard is not an option so thinking about getting a 1050 - is this particular build expected to work with 1050? I can't seem to locate a GTX 1050 specific build/thread (except for the lib to be included in hdmkv's first post).
