RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0) - _Spook_ - 2017-01-02 @fritsch do you know if the LSPCON stuff has been implemented in the drm-intel mainstream? or is it still experimantal? RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0) - fritsch - 2017-01-02 No idea. Did not check that stuff lately. RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0) - _Spook_ - 2017-01-02 Ok. Just preparing for new Kaby Lake NUCs starting february. And I know, new hardware new problems. Seems like much of the Apollo Lake stuff easily applies to the Kaby Lake platform also. Thanks for reply RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0) - Roby77 - 2017-01-02 (2017-01-02, 19:03)ptr727 Wrote:(2017-01-02, 03:06)Milhouse Wrote:(2016-12-31, 21:29)ptr727 Wrote: This one sounds promising: Funny .....i had this frustrating problem (bad WAF) for several months , with kernel 4.7(or 4.8...Don't Remember) the problem occurs rarely Try also to set a delay of 1 sec in Pause during refresh rate change (not related but i tried all ) Edit: do You have an avr in your chain ? Yes on AVR, Marantz NR1603, delay makes it happen less frequently, but not always, and sometimes I get black on movie stop, requiring a reboot. RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0) - Roby77 - 2017-01-02 Teo i Just checked i set 0.5 delay Reported this problem also on bug.freedesktop many months ago And i also mapped reboot Key to IR remote Button Lucky this problem now happens rarely (on my beebox 3150) Also tried hardware solution like dr HDMI but no luck RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0) - ptr727 - 2017-01-03 (2017-01-02, 19:15)fritsch Wrote: As it has absolutely nothing to do with Kodi - leave them out of the chain. For intel, post another bugreport at bugs.freedesktop.org or try a piotrasd build they use experimental drm-intel kernel. I found @piotrasd builds in the referenced in the Apollo Lake thread I could not find a LibreELEC-Intel.x86_64 install image, so I had to use .nocompat to overinstall LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64. Using LibreELEC-Intel.x86_64-8.0-devel-20161231213138-r25071-g99dd0d2, refresh rate switching does not work. Either the build does not work well with my Gen 4 NUC, or the settings are messed up because I started from generic and went to Intel. Where can I find LibreELEC-Intel.x86_64 install disk images? Is there is a better place to find @piotrasd builds than the Apollo Lake thread? RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0) - Milhouse - 2017-01-03 New LibreELEC.tv Krypton build #0102: Generic (Supercedes previous build) Code: # uname -a Based on tip of LibreELEC.tv master (56f05ab4, changelog) and tip of XBMC master (2fb0a619, changelog) with the following modifications:
RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0) - m_gl - 2017-01-03 In "old" CodecInfo overlay the missed (sync) counter is about 2 - 10 with a full movie. I never got this before and there is no visable glitch. Testet back until 1221 but all the same. Should i be worried about that ? Will try to get a log. RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0) - ix400 - 2017-01-03 Sorry guys, Iˋm pretty much confused. From my understanding, Milhouseˋs Kodi 17 and Kodi 18 builds both support Apollo lake. Of course, the v18 builds are newer, but I guess in the v17 builds the Kodi part is more "mature" and contains less errors. And it seems that Milhouse is still building new v17 builds (http://milhouse.libreelec.tv/builds/master/Generic/?C=M&O=D) So my question is, which build should I use for my J4205 when I would like to have as less trouble as possible? Which build for the highest WAF? I donˋt care if the HEVC-support is not top notch. I guess then the milhouse builds for v17 are the way to go, right? RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0) - Devil-Strike - 2017-01-03 Don't make any different tested both on the Apollo lake asrock j3355m(non hdmi2.0 version) and both are fine if you grab the latest builds. RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0) - Milhouse - 2017-01-03 (2017-01-03, 10:25)ix400 Wrote: Sorry guys, Iˋm pretty much confused. No, I haven't built Kodi 17 since #1129 which is the final build in the Kodi 17 thread. All builds since then have been based on Kodi 18 - this isn't reflected in the LibreELEC version number as LE hasn't branched yet and LE master is still LE8. You asked: (2017-01-02, 14:46)ix400 Wrote: Is the Apollo Lake support in the Milhouse 18 builds superior to the Krypton 17 builds? You conflated "Milhouse 18 builds" (which is OS+Kodi) with just Kodi (Krypton 17). Kodi 17 development essentially ended over a month ago, it's now in bug-fix mode pending release. Kodi 18 continues to be developed and improved, with HEVC/10-bit support for Apollo Lake+. The LE8 OS is also stabilising and seeing fewer changes now that it is nearing an official release, but the builds in this thread (which will one day become LE9) will see more kernel and driver improvements that will benefit Apollo Lake and other newer hardware. So if you're looking for the most stable Kodi experience with Apollo Lake hardware then you should be looking at beta/nightly builds of Kodi 17, although the HEVC/10-bit support in these builds will be far from top notch, as it will also be completely missing. For LibreELEC with Kodi 17 there is now the official 7.90.010 (LE8 Alpha 10) and soon there will be 7.95.1 (LE8 Beta 1). If you want the best support for your hardware, then stick with these Kodi 18/proto-LE9 builds. But there will be bugs. RE: LibreELEC Testbuilds for x86_64 (Kodi 18.0) - ix400 - 2017-01-03 Thanks for clarifying this for me!
