Can someone test with this LibreELEC image, the HDR works or not?

That is my image - it looks like some required HDR bits (Kodi and/or kernel) are still missing, we will have to wait a bit longer.
Regarding HDR support on Gemini Lake - it will definitely be supported. The drm/i915 HDR patchset includes Gemini Lake-specific patches.

I just received Asrock J4105B-ITX board. I can confirm that 2Gb module works fine despite the fact that Asrock's specification page says "2GB DRAM per module is not supported".
Do you happen to know if it has the number "76.A302G.D330B" on it?

I want to grab one cheap on eBay for my J4005B-ITX. I bought 2x4GB Kingston with just slight variations in model number, and only 1 of them worked. I just want to throw another 2GB in there to take advantage of dual channel.
Thanks!

Yes, I got 2 sticks, one is 76.A302G.D330B and the other one is 76.A305G.D330B. Both work fine.

Does anyone else have this issue with Samsung UHD TV + Gemini Lake?

RE: Intel Gemini Lake - AbRASiON - 2019-07-29

Anyone get 4k HDR, 60hz working on NUC7PJYH via LibreElec?  or need new Linux Kernel? (Libre Elec 10?)

Hi,

In case anyone ends up here that has asrock j4105 (not j4205) mb they updated their firmware in 1.40 in Dec 2018...

One of the cryptic fixes was:

4.Improve Blue-ray, 4K video display.

The update can be found here:

https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/J4105-ITX/index.us.asp#BIOS

Good all around value board (however, YMMV)

Frank

Still j5005 on lg OLED no hdr never buy Intel anymore

RE: Intel Gemini Lake - keoma - 2019-10-12

HDR doesn't work in Linux desktop or LibreELEC or Kodi(?) yet at all. Not Intel's fault. Hardware and linux driver for j5005 is capable. Problem is neither Xorg nor Wayland supports HDR yet.

HDR wasn't supposed to work only for i3/5/7 Core procs?

Yes, only on 7th Gen i3 and up and only on Windows at the moment. Don't buy Pentiums or Celerons if you have HDR requirement.

RE: Intel Gemini Lake - keoma - 2019-10-17

No, I think HDR support was added in i915 for GLK and later models.

Fairly certain. Patches were added with support for GLK.

Ok, can someone explain what that means in practice so far? The linked description states HDR support only on DP for Gemini Lake and on what platform and with what kind of Player? KODI I guess and Linux, but more specifically please? And can we expect it to work also with HDMI anytime soon?
