How do you launch external programs through kodi? Advanced launcher seems to be discontinued and I see no alternative in the addon list.

I think you have two options:
1. Use the last updated version of Advanced Launcher another user has created. You have to install the zip-file manually.

I've used option 1 some minutes ago and created a launcher for Chrome and Amazon Music. All is working fine.
