In the Skin settings: Homescreen layout/Menu Options check the first option Focus the homemenu when entering the home screen.
Also turn of the mouse, it avoids the problem from occuring. If something goes wrong you can always press S on your keyboard to get the settings menu

I really liked the idea of the HUBS, but they just don't work as expected.
Just redid my whole layout this week so i don't use HUBS anymore.
So i ran into your problem only 2 days ago
But migrating to Bingie was a PITA! So much I've reverted back to Estuary Mod. I've postponed my migration back to Bingie after some more research on how to configure this skin.
Going to have a go following your directions and making some adjustments

It's a bug with French language ! I'm French and the text in mandalorian's exemple was too. So it was an evidence.
Just start Bingie with English and next set it up in French. You will get full menu without issue.

Are you running the skin in English, or are you using a different language?
Looks like some people had some issues with certain items not showing up when they were running Bingie in a French.
If you are, try installing everything in English and see if that works before swapping languages.
