Done the logcat. Huge amount of data including sensitive ones. Can I get you this via a private channel?

Do you see the summary where kodi crashes? This might already be enough.

If you cannot find it: peak3d AT kodi.tv and fritsch AT kodi.tv

Thanks very much for your investigation. Highly appreciated.

Was looking through the log for an hour and I think I know where the crash occurs. Will email you the file in couple of minutes. Thank you.

EDIT: Log sent to AT kodi DOT tv.

Thanks much. Could you remove kodi and install the 32 bit version? E.g. the normal ARM one?

Done that back in December. Same issue occurs.

Okay. Then thx for your log.

As we have currently only 1.5 Android Developers and the 0.5 has no idea what the issue is -> you need to wait or if you could, try to fix it yourself. Add log statements, check which method exactly crashes and so on.

RE: Kodi 18.5 crashes using Android 10 - peak3d - 2020-01-05

@bkc2 you can use adb logcat -c to clear logcat before you start playback. This leads to a small logcat with normally no sensitive data in it.

RE: Kodi 18.5 crashes using Android 10 - fritsch - 2020-01-05

I forwared you the logcat, originally though you would get the mail as well as I named your mail address, but now you have it :-)

RE: Kodi 18.5 crashes using Android 10 - bkc2 - 2020-01-05

Right... From what I was able to gather around the internet, Android 10 introduced new codecs to both video and audio. I'm not a developer, but will try later to do logcat -c in an attempt to clear the log. I wonder if I would be able to play sky news stream via VLC to check if it crashes it too.

RE: Kodi 18.5 crashes using Android 10 - bkc2 - 2020-01-05

New audio and video codecs
Android 10 adds support for the open source video codec AV1, which allows media providers to stream high quality video content to Android devices using less bandwidth. In addition, Android 10 supports audio encoding using Opus - an open, royalty-free codec optimized for speech and music streaming - and HDR10+ for high dynamic range video on devices that support it. The MediaCodecInfo API introduces an easier way to determine the video rendering capabilities of an Android device. For any given codec, you can obtain a list of supported sizes and frame rates.

RE: Kodi 18.5 crashes using Android 10 - bkc2 - 2020-01-06

I must admit - I give up. Everything is working fine on 7.1.2, 5.0, 7.0, 8.0, but on 10 it crashes. So I wait...

Hopefully someone will figure it out....

Any news about the issue my friends?
