Same here. Movies are ok but TV Shows still don't work.

Is it possible that your Alpha version of Kodi contains an update of the TMDB scraper which can handle whatever changes were made on TMDB’s side, therefore you don’t notice any issues with the scraping?  While any of us running Kodi 18.0 or earlier are likely to encounter this problem?
As it turns out, it is not because I was using Alpha-2 but because I was using the Python generation of scrapers that avoided the problem.
(2020-10-15, 14:43)Crashtastic Wrote: My theory is a change occurred on TMDB’s side which the TMDB scraper within Kodi was not expecting. I believe Karellen is not experiencing the issue because he or she is running a later version of Kodi which I suspect contains a later version of the TMDB scraper add-on and isn’t impacted by this issue. I suspect anyone running Kodi 18.0 (Leia) is likely going to notice the issue.
TheMovieDB have confirmed what the problem is... https://www.themoviedb.org/talk/5f8807a3a806730037404cbb?page=1#5f8906bdf6fd180033b0f206

No worries. I just assumed you were busy.  Besides, I was way off with my theory anyways.

Some bad news though.  There have been a few individuals on this thread that have reported that although it is fixed for movies, the scraping process is still not picking up images for TV Shows.  Well, I can confirm that is correct.  The add-on update seemed to fix scraping for movies, but not TV shows.  Hopefully someone else can capture the issue and provide logs as I'm a little busy at the moment.  If nobody else can provide logs, I'll see if I can reproduce the issue and submit the logs later today.

metadata.common.themoviedb.org updated to 3.2.5 for Gotham and above is now available

You can...
1. Wait upto 24 hours for your repository and add-on to update automatically, assuming you have not disabled these settings
2. Go to Settings > Add-ons and force a repository update from the left sideblade menu by selecting Check for updates. You may need to wait until the update reaches the servers in your part of the world.
3. Download and install from zip from the following links...
  1. Gotham - http://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/gotham/metadata.common.themoviedb.org/

Note: This is not a scraper update. This updates a dependency add-on used by any XML scraper that accesses TheMovieDB

Thanks @olympia

What is the correct procedure for getting this update? I believe it has been 24 hours now. I tried getting it by clicking on The Movie Database and clicking the update button -> Version 5.2.1Kodi Add-on repository. It statues that The Movie Dataase Add-on was updated.

If I try to update the dependent The Movie Database Scraper Library-? update button, Select verson 3.2.3 Kodi Add-on repository, I get update failed:
"CCurlFile::Open failed with code 404 for https://mirrors.kodi.tv/addons/leia/metadata.common.themoviedb.org/metadata.common.themoviedb.org-3.2.3.zip:"

When I look at Dependencies it shows "The Movie Database Scraper Library 3.2.0 (installed).

When I try to install from zip and select metadata.common.themoviedb.org-3.2.6.zip, it says "The Movie Database Scraper Add-n library updated" but when I go back to Addons, Information providers, Movie Information, The Movie Database 5.2.1 and select Dependencies, I still see that The Movie Database Scraper Library is still 3.2.0 (installed).

I have restarted Kodi a few times, what am I doing wrong?

It sounds like you already have the latest version installed. It is this version number you need to check. We are now up to v3.2.6 so if you see that, then you are ok.

Getting same problem here.
After force update of addons, I was able to manual update an entry and get it's artwork loaded. This was not the case before update of addons and I was still getting a blank artwork after manual update of an artwork.

Now, even following https://kodi.wiki/view/Artwork/Cache, that is delete the Textures13.db database and the thumbnail directory, only the entry that I manually updated AFTER addon update get it's thumbnail.

That is to mean that this addon update changes the way the url is created... but if url is already created before, nothing will change the url thus correct the problem for already created artworks

If I'm right, how can we now correct url of artworks created before last addon update? ( I'm using a mariadb database for library sharing)
Hello. At least what was the last update? Build url to the movie database with https option?

We are working on that. Give us a bit of time. Once it is sorted out we will announce it.

Sorry, I didn't want to seem in a hurry. I was just curious to know what the latest change was ( https versus http v2 ). I thought I could modify the URLs directly by changing the records in the database, but maybe that's presumptuous on my part.
I noticed another side-effect of the addons update: the language of the jackets came back to English and I had to respecify fr-FR in the analysis preference of "the movie database" of all the "movies" type folders.

This is because there was a change to move from fr to fr-FR in order to try to fix another issue. So fr what was set previously is not exisiting any longer, that's why you had to "respecify".

RE: Kodi 18.8.0 - Kodi fails to obtain images while scraping movies - olympia - 2020-10-17

Themovidedb.org tvshow scraper is a different addon. I have pushed an update for this as well now.

Those, who experience issues with images should update to v3.5.4.

some more details (in case it's needed):
addons -> my addons -> all
the movie database can be found there twice (one for movies, one for tv shows)
versions:
5.2.1
3.5.3
both by team kodi

when i hit the update button there, the window pops up with the same version which is currently installed. it downloads it, but as i said, it's the same version all the time.
i have checked for the repo update.
it's the kodi repo, says 3.1.6, when i hit update it says currently there are no updates.

+1 on that as well.
I can confirm that my pvr iptv simple client stopped working around the same time as this issue with the image scraping started.

RE: Kodi 18.8.0 - Kodi fails to obtain images while scraping movies - Machou - 2020-10-17

Same with RPi2, Kodi 18.8 on OSMC, with Buster source.

Is only with tv show.

Can’t scrap thumbnail or lost it for show on my library.
