Kodi settings Services Select min smb1 Close down Revisit and Select max smb change to smb1 Then close down again Both values shoul be the same.Re open and in the now familiar Service screen you will be able to tick Legacy.......Close again, This worked for me when all else failed. Had to enter IP and server password etc to browse for shares. Local shares as those running direct on my Nvidia were not affected,but all other Android boxes etc have to use your home network to access personel media files. Accessing the wider network used by various apps was never part of the problem anyway.I use 19.4 on my own build. Thanks for the earlier post.

I tried this and for the first time in all my fumbling around I can now see the shared folders on my PC but not the files in said folders. Nada. Something else I need to do as well I guess but I've not idea what it is.

I installed the development build for Matrx (https://mirrors.kodi.tv/nightlies/android/arm64-v8a/Matrix/) and it works fine.
Hope to have official release with this fix soon. But so far, for two days, I have no issue with the development build( kodi-20210411-0d1f616c-Matrix-arm64-v8a.apk ).
The smb share in Shield TV is broken again with kodi 20. Would you know if we are going to experience the same thing that happened with kodi 19?
I'm going to have to get the mediasources.xml, passwords.xml and sources.xml out of the closet....
Edit: it is just the files, considered as local files, that are not visible due to a missing permission.

I lost the Kodi installation I had on two TVs and a Shield Pro.
Now I can't get the Ethernet setup to accept my computer data. I have tried everything.
My Kodi build on the device I'm trying now is 20.2

I'm trying to post in the right place, as my post is that should have been moved and it wasn't if it needed to be somewhere else.
That post you sent me does not help me, as I want to correct the error in Kodi and not in Windows. All folders I need in my PC are in "share mod", and have been working till now.
Only one of my devices, the Mecool, is still streaming, which seems to show that the Windows setup is fine and that something on Kodi setups of the other units is not right.
Except if some Windows update changed anything in the interface and is now denying access to the devices that I was using with Kodi.
A long time ago I did have problems with newer Kodi updates, particularly when passing from v18 to v19. Going back to V18 reestablished things. Apparently it was a bug in v19, because other further versions of V19 and posterior Kodi versions did not bring any new problems. So I wonder if this I am having is another Kodi bug.
