Seems like that file does not provide either mastering metadata nor content light metadata

Sorry to say, yes, that build triggers HDR, but still left with Peak Brightness having no effect (see mediainfo logs on the previous post) on certain HDR files..

Hi guys,
Do you know why Kodi doesnt trigger dolby vision Im my LG B2, not even MP4, in plex it triggers MP4 dolby vision , but in Kodi no mkv and MP4 , any profile, HDR is fine on mkvs

Re the Peak Brightness issue, here's another mediainfo log of a Working Peak Brightness HDR file: https://paste.kodi.tv/caxanehapo
Nothing in life is random, so there must be some flag or part of some metadata that alllows or stops peak brightness from working perhaps?
I'm sure we can get to the bottom of it - let me know how I can help.

@sundermann - the build crashes the TV set (no picture or sound) and the TV just shuts off.....the debug log is around 244mb!, but I've copied what I think you might be looking for:

Weird but I need more than what's inside that debug log. Probably the first 2000 lines are sufficient

This is interesting as the log file shows that the decoder is actually playing the file. In any case I suggest you try a dolby vision profile 5 file first because that should be working anyway. Here's another build

Same - even DV profile 5 crashes and shuts down the TV.
Also, tried the same HDR files re Peak Brightness and same reults as before (see previous mediainfo reports). Although, and it's subjective at best, but HDR seems to look a little richer (in a good way), but like I said, it's subjective.
