Isn't there a nightly with all the fixes already in?

xbs08 Wrote:google for "nightly builds xbmc" Wink

It only list Linux, Windows, osx and a 35mb file called XBMC?

am I missing something or do they not do Xbox builds? Huh

- cold_realms - 2009-03-12

ok the site got updated

Everything works as it used to!!! YAY

EXCEPT I still cannot play WMA lossless with paplayer and for some reason XBMC is cutting off the last second of audio on some of my MP3's (confirmed that the file is fine as it plays perfectly on everything else)

EDIT: The audio cutoff is unique only to paplayer. dvdplayer and mplayer do not suffer from this.

- xbs08 - 2009-03-12

Yes they do the 4 builds.
The one called XBMC is the XBox build!
These builds don't come with skins (except pmIII), scripts or plugins, that's why there only 35MB.

I posted this two pages back

Quote:I built a new build to day Revision 18422 the new linux merge that is meant to fix or help with the memory problem.

This does help a little but doing the same test as before using mediastream skin lite version and going to media preview fanart disabled i have 76mbs left out of 128 stuff stops loading like the skin overlays.

you may see its caching fanart but its a fresh install and library that's why.

here is a debug log.
http://pastebin.com/m104da39c

Also note I am running in 720p so this has a hit on memory as well.

also when running my custom build of Revision 16903 with the same setup i have less memory 75mbs left but everything still loads strange.
here is a log from this revision

Sorry but I don't understand what you're trying to say here. Do both the old(er) and the new version have problems showing fanart? If so, which (old)er version didn't have this issue then?

- xbs08 - 2009-03-12

build 18447 reports 21MB of free RAM in MS Media Preview (fanart off), but when i turn fanart on it doesn't show any fanart at all Sad
Dec build (16762) worked

EDIT: Jan build also works

- Waffa - 2009-03-12

Did also a little test and there is some improvement but still have memory problems.(Default userdata)

Start up, memory seem ok, weather fanart no problem, but when I start to toggle in home screen memory goes down with every step I make and will end up with 1000 KB free.

http://pastebin.com/m176ef732

edit.
This is weird.Huh
Did test with my own userdata and memory is good, like normal.
But having other issues, fanart won't come up.

http://pastebin.com/me4b9637

I have a created a "lite" userdata. Laugh
Same with mediastream, customized one uses less memory than default.

- xbs08 - 2009-03-12

Mine also drops but stops at 17MB.

Sorry just read it back and its a bit confusing lol sorry about that what i meant to say was this.

I compiled a new build Revision 18422 yesterday to test it out to see if the new merges fixed the memory problems they have and they haven't its not as bad but its still there.

To recreate it do what i done.
1. XBMC in 720p mode
2. Mediastream Skin v1 lite version
3. scan media in to library from SMB
4. change to Media Preview Library mode
5. Disable fanart in side menu
6. restart then go to you rmovie library and start scanning through your library.

Log 1 from Rev18422
http://pastebin.com/m104da39c

Now the next log is doing the same thing but Rev16903

Log 2 from Rev16903
http://pastebin.com/m6671c6dc

now in Rev16903 i am left with 75mbs free and the skin and everything else works fine even if i turn on fanart but if i try this in Rev18422 i am left with about 76/77mbs free but the skin stops showing textures and the console starts running slow even without fanart.

hope this is a bit better to understand.

Please test whether the current SVN-head (18467) still has this issue. And verify whether the January-version has this exact same issue. If the problem is still there, create a new bug report with all this info...

- Waffa - 2009-03-13

I'm not at home but the januari build is ok.
Memory problems started with the februari build.

Yes, but some of the memory problems have been resolved in the latest SVN-version and appartently there are still problems, so I'm trying to figure out whether these problems also already existed in the February-release....

Not sure about the memory problems, but I did notice the build I used dated 3-12-09 from the nightly builds site will not show fanart for movies.

The January build did show fanart just fine, but had a big problem opening avi files.
