you need .net 3.5.

- hentai23 - 2011-11-15

why is 4 not backwards compatible ?

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff602939.aspx

this should explain backwards compatibility of 4

update: just found out w7 comes preinstalled with 3.5.1 net xD so i got both 4 and 3.5.1 but i disabled windows communication foundation both non and https

maybe thats the prob here hmmmmm.....

.net 4 is backward compatible. You could try to uninstall .net 4 and reinstall 3.5.

I have .net 4 and it is not conflicting.

I doubt that you have more images from TMDB though. It should be the same, unless you are talking about the other two sites Rogue's scraper scrapes, while my doesn't.

I have to admit the grouping is really very comfortable, but for this is not possible with an XML scraper, only with a native scraper addon (...and Rogue's is a native).

I don't think your scraper is inferior to rogue's regarding TMDB images. Rogue scrapes from IMPAwards and MovieposterDB as well as you pointed out. That's where the difference originates. It'd be great if Rogue could update his scraper. I sent him a PM but have not received an answer yet. I don't know if he has much time to dedicate to this.

It's good you pointed out the difference between native and XML scrapers. Thanks for keeping the XML scraper up to date!

btw how would you rate ember vs media center master in terms of scraping results and speed on autoscrape...anybody?

i asume everybody is using the default scraper plus rogue scraper right? got alot of alternative titled asian movies in my collection too

I much prefer ember to media centre master. However, I don't use autoscrape, as I like to control what's what.

i see well that makes 2 of us then xD

mcm seems very slow and returns many incorrect scrapes on autoscrape

reason why i prefer autoscrape is cause i have over 3000 movies and itd take days to do em manually, thou not all scrape as said since i got many alternative imdb titled asian movies that dont get picked up it seems without manually doing it -.-'

I have about the same (at the time, I think it was 20TB), though not so many Asian movies, but Irish and Russian ones that would have similar problems. I just did all of them manual. It took a couple weeks, with the TV Shows and so forth (plus, converting my video_ts to mkv), but it was absolutely worth it in the end. Sure, I had gotten so use to spending 8 hours a day doing it, that when I was done...I hardly knew what to do with myself!

I use a combo of Rogues and Olympias scrapers.

i wonder when we will have scrapers that scrape our movies to 100% automated with exact results itd be alot of time saved

thou tbh i do gotta admit i get better results for my asian movies with mcm ...thou it takes 3x as long to finish scraping as ember -.-'

When you have foreign titles that aren't named correctly, yeah -- a scraper is going to have a hard time finding your titles. You also told MCM not to bother you by presenting you a list of matches but to choose the best one for you. It's your preference what you use -- I'll openly support that, but let's not make the mistake of pushing fault where it doesn't belong.

Also, MCM does dual-pass fetching, multi-threaded fetching, and multi-source fetching... this means that not only are multiple titles being fetched at the same time, but you're getting results from two different sites at the same time (IMDB and themoviedb.org is the default) so multiple lookups are done on each title. If you have trailers and subtitle downloading enabled, then it could take even longer to fetch. Turn these options off if you want a faster, albeit less accurate fetch. Wink

I have problems with manual scraping. I have my movies on a Lucid Ubuntu System (ZBOX) and use the EMM over the net from a Win7 workstation. At first everything was nice but now im not able to pick a cover poster out of the scraping results.

I select a movie to scrape and make my choice from the list of results in imdb. after that it shows me results for posters, fanarts and so on. I can pick a Fanart without problems. After I pick one of the posters the ok button is greyed and not choosable. An error ist shown that some value has to be 1 or less. I still have the choice to pick a poster from my harddrive.

- hentai23 - 2011-11-16

yeah well ill give mcm another wirl it does seem to have better results then ember and more resources , guess ill have to manually do some afterall -.-'

And again, if you want it to go faster, turn off some of the extra fetching MCM does. Disable dual-scan mode. Change your fetcher plugins to use just one source instead of two. Turn off subtitles and trailers searches, etc. Smile

ok got it and tbh i think im gona purchase the full lifetime thing , usually dont purchase but this is ridiculous without multithreading and thats an premium option , you sure know how to make people wanna pay up, but itll have to wait till i get my check -.-'....and with manual my porn scrapes almost all of course its tedious but what to do xD, and movies are perfect now too , damn autoscraping is still in its infant stage atm id say

btw it would be awesome if you could mark the already scraped movies so it doesnt always do a complete rescrape when i click rescrape all movies -.-' only to get new metadata etc for movies that havent been scraped yet
