Obviously dependent on settings but when I go into movies in Showcase view I get the movie thumbnail on a dvd box.
But when I go into file view i get no thumbnails........why is this?
I am sure I had thumbnails before.

From memory file mode only displays local images and not images stored in the library. If you export your library to separate files then you will have some local images for file mode to use.
