i've got two computers both running fedora 17 and both have xbmc installed from the rpmfusion repo. xbmc was working fine on both until the following updates were applied :

mysql-libs-5.5.25a-1.fc17 Mon 16 Jul 2012 06:37:08 PM BST
evolution-NetworkManager-3.4.3-2.fc17 Mon 16 Jul 2012 06:37:07 PM BST

quota-4.00-4.fc17 Mon 16 Jul 2012 06:36:52 PM BST
qt-x11-4.8.2-4.fc17 Mon 16 Jul 2012 06:36:51 PM BST
quota-nls-4.00-4.fc17 Mon 16 Jul 2012 06:36:47 PM BST
libtiff-3.9.6-1.fc17 Mon 16 Jul 2012 06:36:47 PM BST
qt-4.8.2-4.fc17 Mon 16 Jul 2012 06:36:46 PM BST
initscripts-9.37.1-1.fc17 Mon 16 Jul 2012 06:36:43 PM BST
grep-2.13-1.fc17 Mon 16 Jul 2012 06:36:40 PM BST
evolution-3.4.3-2.fc17 Mon 16 Jul 2012 06:36:36 PM BST
bash-4.2.36-1.fc17 Mon 16 Jul 2012 06:36:29 PM BST

but now, whenever i try and play any kind of media file, xbmc crashes with :

*** glibc detected *** /usr/lib64/xbmc/xbmc.bin: double free or corruption (out): 0x00007f00485b5f60 ***

full crash log :

does anyone know which update could be the culprit ?

having done some testing, downgrading :

libmikmod-3.2.0-15.fc17.x86_64

to :

libmikmod-3.2.0-13.beta2.fc17.x86_64

has resolved the problem.
