Antenna TV into Kodi
#1
Would like to bring my antenna TV into Kodi. I'm currently running Kodi 16 Jarvis on an older laptop (Ubuntu 15.10), connected to my Samsung 32" TV w/ OTA antenna for my local channels via the VGA port on the laptop. With Kodi running in Windowed view it's very easy to switch between the Chrome Browser and Kodi; I would love to be able to add my local stations (St Louis area) into my Kodi as well, but the attempts fail because the Addons don't recognize a tuner. Am I missing something in my Addon search or setup, or has the Addon I'm searching for not been developed yet?

you can use the SiliconDust HDHomerun Connect or Extend

the great thing is they even have their own native Kodi Add-on

Thank you bry- for the reply. I'm trying not to add any more devices, My Samsung gets the local channels via an antenna now and I can just change the Source on the TV to view the local channels. I was looking for a way for the laptop to recognize the TV's tuner, then use an IPTV client to view the channels. This saves me from having to use a TV remote and a wireless keyboard/mouse. The household has a disabled person and multiple remotes make it difficult. But, you may be right on the additional hardware, that's the solution I keep coming back to. Thanks again.

It's worth it. Also being able to view the live tv feeds on all networked devices might be a plus.
