hi
i am running kodi 17.1 krypton on raspberry pi 3.
i have installed youtube add-on 5.3.12 by kdf76,bromix
if i want to watch a video , i do a relevant search then play from results .
is there a way i can play youtube video if i know its URL ?

There are a number of web browser plugins and android/iOS remotes that site playing to kodi.

You can use the video ID (ie the v=JmQDoldiHjk) as your search term.
But more commonly I use the Youtube app on my android app and play to Kodi using Yatse or Kore.
If you want to do it progammatically you can call the yutube addon to play the vid by passing the playback URL.

Old three, but I'll try anyway.
Is there an way to use *.strm files to open the YouTube/SmartTube app and play given video, instead of using the YouTube add on?
I'm on Android Shield TV and want to make an menu/favorite to open a given youtube video.
