Hi,

im new here im using Kodi as a Flatpak on Manjaro and i have all my DVDS backed up as ISOS on my external hard drive but when i want to play them through Kodi i get the message playback failed one or more items failed to play i dont know how to solve this?

Can somebody please give some advice

Same issue here (I'm assuming). DVDs, CDs, and ISOs play fine via VLC on the same box. CDs play fine through Kodi, but DVDs do not. No errors in the log files. I think it may be a KDE/KIO issue, as I have read that this problem does not exist on Gnome. I have checked all Flatpack permissions on KDE, and insured that Kodi has access to all relevant hardware and mounts...

Hi,

im using Manjaro Gnome btw and still it wont play them but VLC does play them

It's the same problem, it affects regular Linux as well.

I have been eagerly waiting for 21.1 but unfortunately my ISO files still don't play on Manjaro / Flatpak. At least the startup is not canceled immediately, i.e. the title is already displayed but it does not start playing...

I found out that I have to uncheck 'Skip filename matching for external audio tracks' for the corresponding folders and then it works. I still wish I knew why but okay...

Just curious: I fixed DVD ISO playback in Debian long ago. Can you try Debian trixie and check if that one helps for you?
