I don't know why xbmc-live run a lot faster that my minimal karmic install.

I have some problematic clip and i cannot enable vdpau. With xbmc-live all run smoothly, with my karmik (worst on jaunty) 1080p clip run at 15fps.

There is a special optimization script or something else in xbmc-live (9.11a1)?

I can't install xbmc-live because i need a multiple partition layout in mine hdd.

both use 9.11a1

Simple, if you cannot use any of the officially supported distros
to run XBMC because of your "special" needs then you are on your own like
all the others strugling with unsuported stuff.

There is a reason that there is only a few distros supported, jump on the train !

Read well the 1st post all is tested in jaunty and karmik (live 9.11a1 is build over karmik u know?) both with similar results.
Distribution is the same with a partion layout different.
Mine question is another.

What are the differencies with minimal "ubuntu" installation and xbmc-live.

ofc vdpau works well, but is ot. I need vdpau off for some strange res movies like the nightmare before christmas 1800x1080

Latest tests:
Install1: karmik minimal + binary nvidia 190.42 (not from repo)
Install2: jaunty minimal + binary nvidia 190.42 (not from repo)
Install3: xbmc-live 9.11a1 on usb hdd
live1: xbmc-live 9.11a1 from odd

All tested with 3 mkv 1080p clip and advanced shader renderer

1: 17-24 fps
2: 15-18 fps
3: 24 fps
4: 24 fps

If its useful i can provide a debug log of the jaunty installation, not the karmik one becouse don't exist anymore.

Any idea??

Shassino, I am pretty sure powernowd is not included in the 9.04 minimal cd.
Did you use another cd or did the rest of the instructions in the thread do the trick?

i found that cpufreqd was enabled both in jaunty and karmik and trought rcconf i've disabled all type of scaling method.

ok, I do not notice the problem on Asrock ION 330, but it is interesting to know.

maybe is related only to AMD cpu. will be interesting to test on a intel one.
