IT attempts to allow the login .. type in root/alpine and the ATV quits the connection. Try any other password and it says invalid pass.

any thoughts?

I stopped being able to login to my atv2, too, before even updating to the new XBMC build.

Not sure what's broken here but it's pissing me off and I don't think it's the XBMC peoples' fault...

What is the error saying? Is it saying the following?

Code:
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
@ WARNING: REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION HAS CHANGED! @

IT IS POSSIBLE THAT SOMEONE IS DOING SOMETHING NASTY!
Someone could be eavesdropping on you right now (man-in-the-middle attack)!
It is also possible that the RSA host key has just been changed.

If so using the following command:

Here's the output from syslog when I try to login:

Image

Typing in an incorrect password it tells me as much, typing in the correct password just immediately dumps me out again.

I was going to try uninstalling and reinstalling openssh from the NitoTV "Install Software" (as istr this working in the past) but it won't let me uninstall...

Okay, another little update: seems I can quite happily log into the atv from my Snow Leopard box but it craps out every time I try to get in from my Lion (GM) machine.

Are you other guys with this problem running Lion, too, by any chance?

(Interestingly, I can ssh into my iPhone from the Lion machine quite happily; I would have thought the iPhone and the ATV2 would have been running the same OpenSSH code...)

*edit*

fwiw Transmit can quite happily access the device via SFTP/SCP, too...

Well, I upgraded the ATV2 to the latest revision and re-jailbroke and everything's dandy again.

Dunno what was going on there but it's all sorted now...
