i know i can select scripts from xbmc and run a particular script, however,

is it possible to have a script run automatically without expliticly running it? for example, i would like the lyrics to be available whenever i play a song. toggling between visualization and lyrics would be cool too!

im not sure what your definition of automatic is but you can bind a script to a key in keymap.xml or add a button to a skin to launch a script.
