I'm having a poker game this weekend and I'd like to create a an audio playlist that I can play and have music going all night without having to DJ. I'd like to do this outside of xbmc if possible, because I'll probably be doing it from work whilst RDPing my NAS. Is there another tool you use or perhaps a simple template I could use to get started?

You can simply create an m3u playlist using some other music app (iTunes, Windows Media Player, WinAmp, Totem, etc.) while accessing your music files on your NAS while at work. You can then bring the m3u file home to your XBMC system and you're good to go.
