Xbmc on my home theatre
#1
Hello there,

I am new to xbmc and all I can say for sure is that it's great. What I would like to ask is this. I have a Toshiba laptop (Satellite A300-1MO) where I have installed xbmc. (http://www.toshiba.eu/discontinued-produ...-a300-1mo/). I am trying to play straight to my Optoma projector which has 2 HDMI inputs and also hear the sound from my Sony BDV E290 home cinema with bluray player (http://www.sony.co.in/product/bdv-e290).
Could you help me with the connection? My laptop only has just 1 hdmi port.

Thanks in advance

It looks like that Sony BDV E290 does not have an HDMI input but it does have a Toslink input. I think you'll need to get a device that extracts the audio from the HDMI. A device like this should work. You would plug the Laptop into this switcher, then connect an HDMI to the projector and a Toslink cable to your E290.
TV: VIZIO E-Series 43”
HTPC: Raspberry Pi 3
STORAGE: Windows 8 Server with DrivePool (Currently with 24TB)
