Titan skin version 3.5.x (Kodi 15 Isengard)
#1
Video
I recently upgraded to Kodi 15.2 which updated Titan as well. Some of the features on my home screens (4 TV's) remained the same. However, the ones' that didn't are consistent on all 4 installs. Unfortunately, I reinstalled 14.2, but the little time I spent with the new Titan skin I was impressed with most of the new improvements. However, the configuration for the home screen is/was a big disappointment.

Here's my xmas wish list:

Add back "Customize Submenu"
Assign Widget: add back "Use sub menu items as widgets".
Add back the ability to have 5 widgets.

With the new Titan instead of highlighting a menu item, clicking the up arrow and scrolling to the widget, clicking enter, and having all the thumbs show up. (Example of what I had in the previous version: Highlight TV Shows-click TV Shows In Progress widget-Thumbs for shows in progress appear.) With the new version my widgets for Movies, Music, TV Shows, Video Add-ons (i.e., Genesis, etc.) and Music Add-ons (i.e., Pandora, etc) all show a row of widgets for individual movies, tv shows, etc. When a show is clicked on a box at the top of the screen opens and I have to scroll right to through all of individual thumbs to find the show. If I want to change to all shows, recently added, or in progress I have to click the drop down arrow. Also, when the show starts there is a description of the episode at the top of the screen for several seconds.

Also, I like the classic skin but it was no longer an option with the new Titan skin.

1) Customize submenu is still there. Skin Settings --> Configure shortcuts --> Customize submenu button

2) Also still there, Press assign widget, select default widgets and all the way at the buttom is the "use submenu as widget"

3) Also still there, all homeviews have the ability of 4 widgets and the enhanced even has 5.

4) I'm not sure what you mean here but it looks like you need to configure your widgets, homescreen and shortcuts to your liking.

5) If you want to turn off that auto showing of the infopanel at playback start you can do that in the skin settings --> OSD

6) Skin settings --> Color Themes --. select the classic theme

Straneg that you are experiencing this issues, these features haven't been touched, or even better they have even extended.
Are you sure you tried the latest version of the skin ?

Hi Marcel,

Since update (3.5.53) i'm sometimes having issues when playing episodes in 3.5.53. I start an episode and the waiting circle shows while starting the playback. But this waiting circle should go away when shwoing OSD briefly on start. Only sometimes the OSD does not appear and the waiting circle does not go away. Now the episode plays fine, but waiting circle stays visible and also Kodi doesn't respond to any keypress. So effectively i have to restart to make it work again. I would like to try if this has something to do with the OSD showing on start (don't want it on start), but can not find the option to disable it on start. I do found the option to display it on Pause and seek, but i would like to keep that option. Can you tell me where's the option to disable it only on start?

Thanks for your quick response. I'm going to reinstall Kodi 15.2 and get back to you regarding the issues I was having with the updated Titan. I am hoping it was operator error. Big Grin

I reinstalled Kodi 15.2 with the Titan version 3.5.53.

1. When widget on home screen (http://i64.tinypic.com/29osh1f.png) is clicked this is the result (http://i63.tinypic.com/1xxout.png), minus the F keys.

2. I do not see a why to customize sub-menu and then set to "use submenu as widget". (http://i67.tinypic.com/21jx8o0.png). As you know the entire menu is not displayed in the picture but the options not shown wouldn't allow customizing sub-menu either. I did find the "use submenu as widget" option.

Version 3.4.1 in the customize main menu page there's a customize sub-menu option and an assign widget option (I selected, "use submenu as widget"). (http://i66.tinypic.com/30kzwxi.jpg - end result)

3. Classic theme colors are not the same as 3.4.1 version (just a note - not an issue)

I changed several options in the OSD settings with no resolution to issue #1.

When I upgraded Kodi some of my home screen settings were changed, I assume to default, which created issue #2.

Thanks in advance for your help! Big Grin

If the waiting circle displays when you start playback it means Kodi is still processing something. Maybe because your disk is still spinning up or another cause. I suggest you to fix the cause of that. Start with checking if you see the same issue with default confluence skin.
The setting to not show the OSD on playback start is in skin settings--> OSD. Just set it to 0 seconds. But that would not influence the waiting circle because that is initiated by Kodi itself and not the skin.

Could be anything indeed, hard to see when in full kodi mode on a tv and only an remote control to operate Sad Thought it could be related to the update (didn't have those issues with earlier versions), but can indeed be anything. Would be easier if i could reproduce when i want, so i can investigate. Will keep an eye on it and test some things (when it's getting worse)....
I think you mean the setting "Auto close OSD" (it is the only one with seconds to set)?. Doesn't setting it to 0 also removes it from seek and pause option?

OK, let me know once you figured out the cause.

The other setting for the OSD is the "auto show OSD infopanel on playback start"

In the shortcuts editor note that you will have to scroll down in the right side list, there are more options there...

Will do that.

Unfortunately can not find that setting anywhere, are you sure it should exist?

1. The only options left that aren't shown in the photo (http://i67.tinypic.com/21jx8o0.png) are: change action, lay-out for widgets, restore shortcuts, and close. How do I customize the sub-menus?

Check you don't have 'Disable all submenus' selected from the 'Homescreen Layout' > 'Homescreen options' section of the skin settings - the only time the edit submenu button will be hidden is when that option is enabled, or you are using the Netflix-style homemenu layout.
