Hello
I wonder if I must use this option : enable dobly digital ac3 transcoding?
I use the latest Kodi on Windows 10, my PC is connected to my audio receiver / speakers through an optical cable, I use SPDIF. My audio receiver supports Dolby, DTS and Stereo PCM.
Any clue? Thanks.

It's needed if you have 5.1 channel files that normally get decoded to PCM, so file types such as aac, mp3, flac, wma etc.

I tried it again yesterday and it works well!!
My AVR can only decode Dolby and DTS , the normal ones, no HD, Atmos, etc.
So I tried with a movie with AAC 5.1 > becomes Dolby 5.1 on my AVR.
I tried with flac 5.1 songs > becomes Dolby 5.1 on my AVR.
I even tried with some video samples containing new codecs like DTS-HD , Dolby Atmos and such, and it worked too!
