Dolby truehd and hd master dts

I'm new to this and have an android box with kodi version 17 krypton and I have all the settings right to my knowledge but when playing an mkv file with dolby true hd or dts hd master the sound cuts out quite often
I'm playing the movie from my passport ext hard drive 
I've searched the posts and have tried almost everything
can anyone help

Start off with which Android Box and what version Android you are running.

A Debug Log that captures you playing one of these mkv files will also help...

  1. Enable Debugging mode. Go to Settings>System Settings>Logging and it should be the first option or press ctrl-shift-d on a keyboard
  2. Restart Kodi
  3. Replicate the problem. Now that debug mode is enabled, repeat the steps that cause the problem.
  4. Upload the log using either the:
    a. Manual method to Kodi Paste Site. Log location is detailed here... Log_file/Advanced#Location (wiki), or
    b. Add-on method using the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the address link in the address bar in a new post here.
Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
